Stop these nonsense “unlimited play” tournaments!
Why would WGT get rid of something which has ball hit after ball hit after ball hit.  I'm surprised there's not more unlimited to choose from.

Hey, I know. Why doesn't WGT just stop tournaments altogether?

That way you never have to play anything except the red tee tournies in your CC.

It would seem that you are free to pick and choose which tournaments you want to enter and there are plenty of single play tournaments from which you can play.  If you don't like the unlimited play options, you should probably not play in them.

x2.  I do not like them and I do not enter them.  But I have no problem with WGT throwing out a variety of options.

This hits home! As long as they make players spend balls after balls, WGT won't stop them.

Nevertheless, I agree with the OP, sky0diver. Those “unlimited play” tournaments are total BS which will give unfair advantages ONLY to those losers and possibly cheaters who got nothing else to do in their life but play the same rounds over and over. Single-round tournaments are for real men with real skills. Give it a shot and take the consequences. PERIOD!

    Really?

There is probably a good sized group of players that considers You and the OP not really "manly" enough because you don't play uneven lies exclusively.

Get off your soapbox and let the rest of us enjoy the game the way we like.  We're not all golfers or golf purists.  We can all choose our niche and what we consider fun, whether it's strictly country clubs, tournaments, match play, single/unlimited,  CCTH, unranked rounds or a mix or whatever.

Golf is a gentleman's game, and real men with real skills, would take being defeated with a lot more grace, and dignity.  Someone with a better score than you, simply beat the course, they didn't beat you.  On the other hand, you obviously couldn't beat the course, so I would say that you beat yourself.  If you don't play against the better opponents, you will never be better than them, so be a man, congratulate those that beat the course, and get better yourself!   It takes a real man to admit defeat!

Haven't any of you wasted a thought on the positive side of unlimited tournaments?

I for one have played the weeklies (9 and 18) multiple times with pleasure, honing my skills during the week on one or two courses repeatedly while building up as many XPs as possible - while I needed them!

Those unimportant course awards showed me my progress - sometimes - and I had a lot of fun there!

Today, I play them once, maybe twice, and I may quit a super bad round sometimes. I can do this because it doesn't matter if I end up 200th or 1000th on the leaderboard  ;)

Just thinking out loud here. But don't those gentlemen pro golfers turn up an play the course before a tournament starts an take notes. Don't they hit balls all day at the practice range. Don't they spend all year training an practiceing their skills , ie playing the same shot all week till they hit it consistently the same every time. Seems like that's the same thing people can do in here. An let's not forget one can play a course on here unlimited all yr round

I dont like to play unlimiteds. I like to play single rounds. So here is what i do: I play the single rounds and I dont play the unlimiteds. That is so easy like it sounds. And for me it works. It makes me a happy little panda bear in a gorilla costume. Sun is shining out of my back. yippieyayeh!

Ok, i cant play the majors and stuff. But WGT will not change them into single play mode. They would lose to much money then. That is the way it goes. I cant change it so I dont care. Live is sometimes hard and sometimes easy and in some cases it is just a question of my own decisions.

Golf - The Manly Game..... LoL..... I love that... Problem with that is, statistically LPGA players have a much higher accuracy rating than PGA players, in fact from 200 yards out, they crush and make their 'manly' counterparts seem almost amateur-like in the skill department.

So ya know, sayin'.... manly to admit defeat... ;-)

Oh and who cares about the unlimited's... Kinda a dumb idea to even suggest, why not just ask TG to cut the prices in half for the balls? Or make rentals free? Suggesting anything that cuts into the revenue stream is just dumb.
