Just a heads up to fellow country club members that there is some poaching going on . Even though Im a director in a club Im getting invites for membership from other clubs . I posted a note on one club owners wall after getting an invite today . Since it didnt come from them but one of their club members I politely pointed out how this was frowned upon . But this is just a heads up to watch out for your club .

I never understood the concern with this. If the club a person is a member of is not good enough to hold them then so what.

This has been going on for some time now. I have at at least 4 invites from different clubs.

If the club is not good enough to hold them then they will leave on their own with no help from anyone . As a club owner I dont think you would appreciate some one poaching your club members after you worked hard to recruit them . They want to recruit then go through the community list like everyone else does . As a club director when I go recruiting I go through the community roster and send invites to players who dont belong to a club .

To me poaching is tearing down the hard work of a club owner . I respect that and feel that others should too .

It has nothing to do with the members of a club that are receiving the invites , And everything to do with the person sending the invites ,  Its lazy , Disrespectful , And just poor form .. Your right about clubs that have no activity  , Some clubs are just dead or dying , And those members should be invited to another club , However active clubs and their members should be left alone .

Many years ago I founded the Senior Citizens Country Club which at one point had more than 225 members. I held onto it for more than 2 years before transferring it to another member. I never lost sleep over members coming and going. That's the cost of doing business.

I think what Lonnie is trying to say is that any owner who goes into another club and invites their members is a lazy good for nothing c..t.
