I agree 1,000% with Lonnie. Awards don't mean squat. Also if I might add, on the courses the wind can change direction each time you play it but not the pin placement?
These "freebie" awards add experience points (right or wrong)...so, LOL!
The wind and the "layout" of the courses have never coincided. If you look at a "map" of the real courses...and then lay the wind on top...it doesn't jibe...never has. You can go from one hole with a head wind to another hole that heads in the same direction...and have a cross or tail wind. The wind should basically be from the same direction, over the course. If a hole at, say, St. A, heads North, and wind is from the South...tailwind. Later, another hole at St. A, which heads South...headwind. Seems simple enough but I don't think WGT factors in actual course layouts? YES, I know...winds can move directions...the average wind direction will move, SLOWLY, over time...not reverse itself from one south facing hole to the very next.
I'm not holding my breathe on this one.
