  It is with a certain wistful poignance that I depart the friendly confines of Tour Masterdom and don the lead-laden laurels of the skilled, the elite, the encumbered-by-really-long-tees-and-super-fast-greens.

  Yes, I am Legend.

  It's been fun hitting wedges into greens. Getting the occasional "boom boom". Making the green in 2 on par fives. Having trouble-free fringes. Winning a weekly now and then. But alas, those are all things of the past.

  Sigh.

  Well, onward if not upward.

  To the rest of you Legends: Look out - I'm pretty sure that any day now I'll learn to putt, drive, ding, apply the proper spin and hit a punch wedge. :)

  Thanks, man. After I made it, I played 2 9-holers to make 1000 and get a feel for the new game. Next up: level 88 and a new driver, ETA Friday night. :)

  Congrats on making Legend. Someone let me borrow their g.p.s. so i could find the green from the back tee's. I am not sure if the pro shop sells them though.

  Congrats...It does seem daunting at first but actually it makes the game more interesting. Give yourself a couple weeks (if you play a lot) and you'll be right back to where you were as a TM. Just stay away from Kaiwah's back 9.

  For some encouragement I can tell you I've shot my best rounds on Oakmont (63) and Bethpage (59) as a Legend. And I played both courses quite a bit as a Master and TM.
