I'm not sure if anything can, or will change.  Just went through this last clash, and I have no idea what to think.  In 3 of our contests, we were paired with cc s,  that were at least level 10, or higher.  We are a level 7, with 41 members, playing against cc s that had more champions and tour legends, than we have members.  Needless to say we were less than enthusiastic to compete.  Now, don't get me wrong, we are competitive, and love a challenge, but the sheer numbers of 250 golfers against 41, just don't add up for us to purchase passes, or golf balls, when we are totally out manned.  You can do the math as to what kind of a chance we had, Gen. Custer had better odds. So back to my question, wouldn't you think that someone would take a look at this, and figure out that it equates in revenue lost?  No passes, balls or any purchases of any kind, that's a good business plan?

Luckystar5, i totally agree with you about the current clash format but you'll soon realise that it doesn't matter how many Champions or Tour Legends some of these clubs have, they'll also want your best players and will not hold back when trying to poach them

You are right Lucky , The CC events are not fair or fun , Unless you are in the Georgian . 90% of the people I talk to don't like the way it is set up , We have been complaining about it for years ,  WGT  is not listening to the 90%  ,  Its very frustrating and disappointing ..

Disregarding the unfairness that it obviously entails, the fact is that it has just gotten very old and boring. Churning out rounds on a course like Pebble in heavy winds might be fun and challenging for a game or two, but that is all, after that it is just plain stupid.

Tee markers as a prize is a joke to begin with, but to rehash old ones that have already been used shows me that WGT has gotten bored with it as well. There is no incentive here at all, as has been the case since the start.

WGT isn't listening because the Georgian basically supports the whole damn thing by themselves!! And only because their main objective is to get a "Golden Calf" for each and every one of their members in the club!! So they're more than happy to pay the price. You are totally right CEverett.

As far as the rest of the "CC Event" it's just a side note. Sure, we have several members who enjoy the competition but we don't push our members to play other than to use the Free 4 Hour Passes. I play strictly because I'm a Director. I feel obligated to our club.

The only way a "CC Event" would be fair for everyone, other than the Georgian, would be to handicap it so the smaller clubs would be able to play in fair matches as well. And to give them a shot at winning something besides a few golf balls!! I can't even imagine how much is generated from a single "CC Event" but it has to be quite a large sum wouldn't you agree? So why can't a portion of the money taken in on these 2 week "Events" be set a side towards a better prize structuring? Just a thought to get the ball rolling here.

Don't think that I don't enjoy a good challenge,  and some on here will call me an idiot, I'll buy 5 passes,to play.  Now that's less than 2 dollars, and totally maybe 10,for the clash.  That's less money than a round of real golf, and I don't mind cuz I'm enjoying myself.  I'm not a financial wizard, or anything like that, but if 50% of the player quit paying any money, I'm sure that those cc s that finance these clashs, wouldn't!  Just think, at 2 dollars a person, times one half of the entire membership, that would have to be 10s of thousands of dollars.  Again, where's the cost effectiveness?  I guess someone in wgt, has the higher ups looking only at plus side of revenue, and not the loss colum.  Glass is half full?

Some of our members liked the clash, they played it but generally with not buying passes.

Just using SPs if close in a game and not wasting them away if no chance of winning.

We finished 21st with very little spends from members, me personally, i played 2 in the 48 hrs as im either too busy with club stuff of i just find it boring.

On a side note, not all Georgian members like the clash and they have 2 teams in World Cup so yes they are clash orientated but at least mix it a bit.

And that comes from me, who is largely opposed to  "THE CASH".

I guess, some missed the point to my question, wouldn't you think that from a money making standpoint, that wgt, could come up with a method, to keep a certain amount of fairness in these completions?

Doesn't take a genius to figure out, 2 clubs matched equally or close to equal, might bring out the winning instinct and want to spend a little to win?  As I figured, if just one half of the clubs we were matched with, played, just half the members,  and all they scored just pars, their score would have been, 5625, if ALL my team mates scored all birds, we still would have had a score of 4428.  Really ? why try, again back to lost revenue? I'm not going to waste hits on balls, or buy passes for a lost cause. One would think, that it wouldn't be hard to match say, levels that are only +or- one or 2 levels difference,  not 5 or 6. Congrats on scoring that high, we still were in the top 160, and didn't even try. Which makes me wonder if clubs aren't playing as much, lost revenue? Sorry just venting, very flusterating trying to keep members active, when I can't explain to them a good reason to keep at it.

I didn`t mate and agree with you, but having been someone who has openly slated "the cash" for years then i suppose i have just given up.

They wont change.....too many are doing what you oppose and buying passes galore.

As said, you can have fun without buying them, we did, and you can also, good luck.
