I've been happily playing various single player games for the past several months, enjoying (?) all the frustrations posted in these forums as everyone else. Last night I played multiple times in the CTTH for the ADT Challenge. I began a new game and after the swing meter screwed up my shot at the 1st challenge (it's always the meter's fault!) and I wound up too many feet away to settle for, I closed the window as I have done in the past hoping to get another chance in a new round. Usually when I do this I click on the PLAY button on the home page and it takes me to a new browser window for the main menu where I can choose to end the current game in progress or start a new game. This time it didn't. I get the message that there is a "game in progress" and that the "game does not support multiple browser windows". It doesn't let me choose to get back into that game I want to quit.

I've searched for similar forum problem posts but have come up empty for a solution. I have cleared my cache, logged out and back in, closed my Firefox app, restarted the computer, tried IE - all with the same result. I have been locked out of further play. Somehow, I think I need to quit whatever game WGT thinks I have in progress but there are no options I can find to do that.

I have tried as many ways to start a game as I can think of but always wind up in a new game browser window with the error message I quoted above. HELP!

First off, when you`re in game mode and want to quit/restart, just go to the menu and select restart (restart option in ctth only) or quit  from the Same page you`re on. The only times I`ve closed the window without doing this was because the game was frozen. When I reopened the window I would see the "saved game" and had the option to resume or quit. I`m not sure why you would not have the same options. Btw the in-game menu is at the top left of the screen. Thanks for your input, mefitz. After I figure out how to overcome the present dilemma (or someone comes to my rescue) and get to play a game I'll try your method for quitting. I've been successfully playing since May and I don't recall seeing any "menu" tabs that are selectable. I don't recall seeing any options for anything in the game window. Other than game play, the only active command is "continue" until the game is over.

It seems that it`s jammed up pretty good on you. Try emailing the problem to members@worldgolftour.com  . From what I`ve read in these forums, they`re quick to respond. Maybe they can clear, reboot, or whatever it is that needs doing. When you do get back on, look just   under your name for the MENU. Click on it for a drop-down list of options. Enjoy!

I thought I resolved the problem. I logged in to WGT from my 7 yr old iMac which is too slow and not enough memory for WGT reqmts. I was able to get to the screen that has the 2 options of continue or end game in progress. So I ended the ADT game and was able to select from any of the open contests to begin a new game. I logged off and close WGT.

Then I opened my laptop which I have been using for WGT games, logged in and am presented with the same game already in progress dilemma. I'll use your link to report the problem. Thanks again. If there is a resolution I'll post it here.

I am by no means a computer "anything" but, one of my first thoughts was that your computer has that game saved in itself and has no connection to wgt. In other words, your computer does infact have that browser window open somewhere and when you try to open another it gets rejected. I can`t give you any ideas as to where you should go looking for it because that`s when I start cursing at any and all computers!  GL

    Hi Bobinor,

I contacted you directly as well, but please trying clearing your Flash cache as well as your browser cache.  I emailed you directions on how to do that.

The message you are receiving indicates that you have attempted to start the game client in two different browser windows.  The likely case is that for some reason your browser did not close down cleanly when you closed the game window.  When  you open a new window, it still thinks the old one is present.

I suspect if you shutdown and reboot the affected system you will find that once it boots back up, you can play normally.  Make sure you save off any files open in other applications before you reboot.

Thanks WGTCinder, that has done the trick. I had previously shut down my system but not before I did all the cache cleaning, both in the browser and in Flash. I believe it was the Flash cache that held me ransom. Clearing that and then a reboot was the solution.

I had the same error. Then I found that I had two windows ( Google Chrome) I closed on down correctly, and was able to carry on as usual. Did not have to clear any caches. Hope this a help.
