For several years I've been using Chrome and whatever is the most recent release of Flash Player - with no meter stutter.

Though the reason I've not had any meter stutter for years is more likely because I meticulously maintain my computer, both the hardware and system/browser software.

I only let a minimal number of application load at start up and I routinely clear my system and browser caches of left over crappola files and other trash - like cookies.

In addition I keep Flash Player configured to my advantage.

gonna take a look today at what else may be running

Good to see you back mate.

Yep, chances are something is going on in the background. I use Maxthon Cloud solely for WGT- one bonus is it has a CPU meter built in......a spike I stop the swing.....downside is it does not show in full screen.

I used to use an external program that could sit in the corner (older laptop, XP with poor Ram) and worked very well....found if I held the meter for a few seconds, the spike would go and was good to release and hit. Better laptop now, so no need.

Assuming the internet, mouse etc are good, if you are low on memory, close all other windows. Also, some Virus software will kill a meter, as can email programs downloading.

You need to find out what works best for you.

    +1 Alan!

One more step is to close ALL browser windows frequently to circumvent the "memory-eating" of Flash.

I've noticed that my browser wreaks havoc when running while the PC is in hibernation mode. When returning, I experience the most CPU overload/overheat situations - immediate black screen! This is not limited to WGT, but other sites use Flash, too.

The termal state of my laptop is wobbly, but it indicates heavy action!
