Howdy, I know you may see this "what clubs to buy" or "what to buy first" threads many times and I'm still learning to play this game. (Okay, I suck). I am level 26 and I was wondering what should I buy first? I haven't bought anything so basically I'm still using the default clubs that you started out with. Should I buy a new driver first or a set a new Iron? Wedges or Putter?

All of this is still brand new to me and I don't wanna buy something and then realize it was a big waste of credits.

    Thanks for your help!

With all due respect, learn to use the search box to the right.  Had you done so this time you would have found many thread about buying your first equipment already

That said, use the link below and read the post by Easy Edward.  It's great first time buying advice and covers both what to buy and when to buy it.

    Hope this helps.  Good Luck.

I'm sorry, but like I mentioned before, I'm new. So I didn't know where the search box is. This was actually my first post so I'm still trying to figure out the forum.

    Thanks though

Welcome to WGT and the discussion boards. In addition to the thread that Phred linked, you should also take a look at this thread: L23 Amateur - Advice for First Purchase

Best of luck to you. For now, just play a lot and learn the game. We also sucked at first. :-)

And you might to consider joining a country club. There are a lot of good ones out there. it's another place to pick up tips, meet new people, and enjoy the community aspect of the game.

    +1000 Robert.

To Stitch, no worries, I saw you were new,  That's why I included the thread link.  I was just letting you know it's there, as most questions by new players have been asked before.  Using Search will speed up you getting answers to your questions, usually.

Robert gave you great advice.  We all (or at least 99.99%) were really bad when we started.  Just try to learn and enjoy the game.  It's very addictive when you start.

    Good Luck

Hey, thank guys and thanks for all these great advice/tips. I'd been using the search box and I found a few posts that answer most of my questions so thank for letting me know about that..

Thanks Robert for the thread "L23 Amateur - Advice for First Purchase" I sense that fact I should wait until a certain level ( like say 45 or higher-ish) before I purchase anything and that what I'm planning on doing.

    Thanks again guys

Also read the thread " Advice for New Players " good advice to help you along the way . Otherwise dont buy anything for right now it would be a waste . Take your time and learn the game and how to play . Once you learn how to play well with the clubs you have then you will play better with new ones . Take Care

    Hey Stitch,

I'm participating in an event called "Christmas in July" here in the forums. It's an event where players sign up to play Santa and send out free gifts from the pro shop to newer players like yourself.

Well, it appears most of the players seeking gifts in that thread have already been visited by Santa. So, in order to fulfill my obligation as Santa I went in search of someone that might need an upgrade to their equipment and came across this thread. So, I sent you a few sleeves of the Tour-SD golf balls.

The Tour-SD balls are a great first upgrade for newer players, and much better than the starter balls you're using now. I think they will help you climb the ladder faster and get you to the point where you need to be to start upgrading your equipment.

Anyway, enjoy the new golf balls and Merry Christmas in July!

Oh, and here's a link to the Christmas in July thread-

    You're welcome EE.

There might be another "12 Days of Christmas" event come December...but I can't be sure.
