    much is made of the eratic meter.  i almost never hit a bad shot because of the meter.  i have a good computer and a high speed cable internet connection. maybe that helps. for this reason i agree with those who say the meter problems are on the users end and not on the providers.  i might get one meter hangup a week, if that.  occasionally it will stutter a bit when heading toward the ding but i can usually let the swing go. quit complaining people. its you not them

    It goes as no surprise to see that you have no meter problems on WGT. You do not have any friends and therefore do not have the impact that the friends list can have on the meter.

    I deleted 230 friends yesterday, left with less than 30, of which there has been 1 or 2 logged in throughout the day. The result today for me has been quite astonishing. I think I have had one instance whereby the meter has stuttered, that is across 54 holes played. This last week I have had problems every day with the meter, quite a coincidence that today is problem free or in fact a result of binning the friends.

    How long did it take?  When you delete friends from your list do they get deleted on the other end too?

    Jim it took me a few hours although I did it across 3 sessions throughout the day. If I delete a friend then I am no longer showing on their friends list either, hence you wont see me on yours. I know nothing about the technicalities of computers but below is a post from a WGTLS user on this very subject;

    "Unfortunately your WGT friends list is tied to the game window. I wished they'd remove that function; once you're playing who cares what's happening with friends not in the actual game you're playing?

    Every time the status of one of those 50 or 100 or ??? friends changes it puts a digital pulse into the game window, and if that happens whilst your meter is in action ... bad news, baby. To a lesser extent, so does chat in the game window - if you have chatty partners or opponents, try turning the game chat off (just click on CHAT in the upper left scoreboard section) while you're making your swing - once you're done click on CHAT again to to observe all those 'nice shot' comments you've just gathered."

    Now maybe my results with the meter are purely coincidental but it does seem strange that I should get such a good run on it today. If the experiment works, fantastic. If not I can always make friends again with those I deleted.

    That sure makes huge sense, Tiff. I never had a problem until I started culling my list to reveal under 255 friends so I could see them. Now the list is full of red and green dots while my meter is doing odd things it never used to. I've been blaming everything from AVG to Chrome and going nuts trying to figure out what changed on my end. Turns out nothing did, it has to be that list.  :-(

    I see it all the time because i have my friend list Open,And when someone goes offline or comes online or goes from green to red i see the difference in the meter,Wgt must be aware of this because we have all noticed this happening and many players on WGT have greatly reduced their friend list,So why cant WGT say to us OK,we cant do anything about this just keep list to a minimum or,Ok we will look into it and work on completely disabling friend list during game play in future updates.

    It is pretty sad that the only solution that we can come to in fixing the meter is to eliminate your friends.  I generally don't have much in terms of meter issues but since Congressional came online it has been nothing but trouble.  I'm culling down my friends list today, which is in itself a slow process that should be improved in hopes of getting a smoother meter so that I can qualify for the US Open.
