Rossa for ding and off ding

  Hi just wondered what you lot thought  about the Rossa for ding and off ding putting as i use both depending on the putt,as im struggling with the lvl 77 spider,dont like the way you have to over hit nearly every putt,,any feedback welcome

  Hi Colin I had the Rossa putter and its a great putter . You can putt both ways with it but if you really want a great putter for this style of putting  then get the L70+ Versa putter . It is absolutely one of the best putters in the pro shop hands down . I gave up my Rossa putter for it and never looked back . You can putt however you need to with it and its overall a great putter . In the Versa line the 3 top putters are the L70+ 96+ and 98+ sabertooth in that order . So anyone of those 3 is a home run .

  So if you want better putting results then thats the way to go .

  I haven't played with every putter, but you'd be hard-pressed to convince me that any putter in the game offers a better ROI than the L55 Daytona.  I use it for both ding and off-ding putts, and I think it's fantastic (and it's cheap).  Just my $.02

  Ok  if that the case with the versa s I might as well wait for the sabretooth as I have looked through a lot of players who rate the versa and most above lvl 98 seem to have gone to the sabretooth so is it that much better than the normal versa s,Im lvl 88 nearly 89, cheers colin

  Its not hard to do . You`ve only been playing for 4 months so like you said , you havent used this putter but I have . The Daytona is the putter that I had when I began off ding playing .and its a great putter . It took me to Legend that I can say for sure . But once you get to Legend the putting really changes . The breaks become more severe as well as pronounced and thats where the Versas come in .

  Compare the 2 and you will see that with the L70+ Versa putter you will get more balance precision and a slower meter . Its the balance and precision that really makes it a better putter than the daytona . Its what you will need to handle those breaks on the faster greens when putting .

  Now you can keep the Daytona after reaching Legend and still make putts . But the L70+ will take you to Legend and beyond . In truth it can be the last putter you will ever buy it can take you all the way to Champion if you like .

  Like I said I gave up my rossa putter for it and have no regrets for doing so . The only reason that I have the L98+ sabertooth is because I had the credits to buy it . Its a great putter too and I love it just as much as the rossa and the other Versa putters that I had before it .

  Thanks again lonnie,for all the help on all the different posts ive made ,just another 1 for you .is it worth getting 1 of the 282m drivers lvl 79 - 89,if so should i go for the calloway fusion  lvl 85,to match meter speeds.as got the 3 wood and irons all 4.2,this is because ive seen a few posts about how long it takes to get through the 90 s Lvls

  That depends on you . Having clubs with the same meter helps to having a smoother and consistant meter . It also helps you to develope a rythm and makes hitting the ding easier for some . If you can play well with what you have then dont waste your money or credits on upgrades that you dont need . You still have a ways to go before you reach the tips you wont move back another tee when you move up to Tour Master .

  The best way to rate your clubs for upgrades is simple . Go play a practice stroke play round and move back to Champion and see how well you can play with the clubs you have . If you cant shoot what you feel is an acceptable score then upgrade your clubs as needed . Cant reach the fairways from the tee then get a new driver . Par4s giving you fits then upgrade the club thats causing the shortage . Thats the best way to check your club length .

  Now as for your other post about the putter . You can wait to get the sabertooth but my friend its a very long road from L88 to L98 . So you may want to go ahead and get the L70+ Versa it will take you all the way to L98+ sabertooth without a lot of headaches . So you can hold off on the driver and get the putter for now as that is the more important club need . Hope this helps .

  Obviously I can't speak to the Versa because I haven't used it.  But I do know that it is roughly 3.5X more expensive than the Daytona.  Is it 3.5X better?  That isn't a rhetorical question, and I'm not trying to be a smartass - I'm genuinely curious to know whether someone, who has played both, objectively finds the Versa to be 3.5X better than the Rossa.  From the extensive reading I've done on the forum, I've not gotten the impression that many people have come to that conclusion (and several posts I've read are from people who found they like the Versa LESS than the Daytona and feel like the 2,500 credits they spend on the Versa were wasted).  The only point I was trying to make earlier is that, in my opinion, the Daytona offers phenomenal performance relative to what it costs.  That's all.

  No question the Daytona offers great "bang for the buck." A lot of guys I play use it, and it works well for them,

  But while both putters offer the same precision, the Versa is much better at forgiveness and balance, both of which make it more accurate, particularly on longer putts. Simply put, it holds its line much better.

  Considering that the putter is the club you use more than any other, in my buck those attributes are well worth the extra credits.
