Let me begin by saying that for months a lot of players like myself have been waiting and hoping with every new equipment upgrade that the WGT club makers would make available a 270-280 Rapture or K15 driver. So far, to no avail:(

So here goes with my question....If WGT would make a 280 yd Rapture rated driver, while maintaining the same forgiveness and slow meter speed of my level 47 Rapture driver, would you buy and use it? I have spoken to many players that would buy and use it in an instant!! What do you think?

And, a a PS......Do you there would be a line out the door of the pro shop if the WGT club makers made available a series of Rapture wedges from say 115 yard down to the 50 yard rated must have level 39 z wedge! maintaining the same 3 and half dot ball spin,  but again with the same swing characteristics of the level 48 rapture irons with there forgiveness & slow meter.

I think if they were not not virtual wedges, they would sell out in a day:)

I wouldn't swap my R11 for anything. If WGT made long hitting clubs with slow meters and have them available at low levels then indeed they would sell loads of them, but it would make the game very easy and they'd lose a fortune in sales of clubs and balls that players buy on the way to the big dog clubs.

I was always under the impression that what is for virtual sale here follows what is actually available from the manufacturer. I suppose WGT could monkey with their own hybrid line and make them any way they want but then I would think Piz's take comes into play.

Consistant meter speed from driver to wedges IMO is all important.

You CAN get used to a fast meter....you just have to be willing to suffer the learning curve..

There is no way I would give up my R11 for a slower meter driver and then have fast meter irons like the  new TM Tour Burner's.

I do not want some slow meters and some fast meters all mixed up together.

I must be the exception to that rule.

Along with thousands of other Rapture users.

I think that is the OPs point.  There are no long drivers and good wedges to match the Rapture meter speed so we are forced to mix meters.

If they were only available at say level 75+ and not lower levels then piz's point is taken care of.  It would be, IMO, a huge carrot to level up for many players.

On my way up, I've bought the Raptures, the G10's, the I15's and now the Burners. I must be older than most on here but have gradually got used to the meter speeds, in fact I wish we had faster wedges now.

A driver like that won't happen. The typical trade-off on WGT is meter speed for distance. The Tour PLUS clubs are an example of why not. The driver costs nearly $19 and it only has a distance of 247. A 280 Rapture driver would be about $50.

If they did bring out a driver like that, and a set of rapture irons with longer distance, i would be onto them in a shot. I use the R11 and the rapture irons at the mo, but more distance is needed on them to play some of the courses. The R11 is a beauty, but just a tad too quick for me.

I think it's safe to assume the higher level clubs are going to have quicker meters. In order to be able to buy them you have to have played a lot of rounds and are more likely to be able to control a fast meter. Perfect timing plays a major role in this game, those that have it get the advantage of being able to hit longer clubs accurately. That's fair in my opinion.

A 280 yard driver and long irons with beginners meter speed would make a mockery of the thousands of hours many players have spent mastering the ding.

"Mockery" would not be the adjective i would use. There are many players such as me (64+ age) that really cannot handle speedy meters. I use the best Rapture available and will probably use that for the forseeable future no matter what level I reach (50 now).

The many players you mention can be thankful for their sharp skills handling the meter. I wish i was one of them, and after reading tons of forum postings, Many players such as yourself, seem not to understand why folks like me can't handle that quick meter! WE are all made differently! Its being human.
