    Woodoworkery:

I tried Imgur, but they have some pretty obscene advertisement on their site.

I switched to Imgur after Shitbucket screwed up all up the pooper and I can't say I noticed any dodgy adverts.

It's much faster than either PB or TinyPic, I'm well happy with it.

     .

Its kind of when you go to the front page, and also if you use the direct link to post ,and someone double clicks the picture to in large it, the obscene pictures are to the right

    Hi

    Woodoworkery:

I tried Imgur, but they have some pretty obscene advertisement on their site.

I switched a lot of my stuff over to Imgur a while ago and have had no problems. To be honest, I don't remember seeing any ads there either. I know what can pop up on the main page before you log on, and indeed after, but that's what other people have posted there and not imgur themselves. Luckily the turnover is pretty fast so they soon disappear. I might be completely wrong, if so sorry, but I'd give it another try.

    Good luck

    Rich

OK sorry , maybe I worded it wrong, its not advertisement , just obscene pictures

No problem, like I said those do disappear quickly.
I've just logged in, to be sure, and had a look in the settings. Found this

I must admit though, I've never used it so can't say how effective it is.

    Hope that's helped a bit

    Cheers!

    Rich

Okay films, the fix didn't work for you on your forum because you put it in slightly the wrong place. See here...

...it needs to be tacked onto the end of the URL after the  .jpg.

Here's a video on how to make links too.

Yes, I can and you are welcome. But, I wouldn't rely on it as a permanent fix. The wise thing to do would be to migrate all your images to another hosting site and transfer your links over to that one. I would be very surprised if PB doesn't kill this fix at some point. The more publicity it gets, the quicker it will become history.  : )

Scott, how in the name of Napoleon's balls did you find out about this in the first place?

    You Sir, are amazing.

Thank you MM, I only wish amazing paid better, lol.  : )

I've had a PB account for about 5-6 years and before they went down the toilet, I had a good read of the Ts&Cs etc. It was then that I discovered that you could get access to the full resolution of your uploaded images by tacking ~original onto the end of the URL. I wasn't happy looking at the fuzzy images which is what you got from the URL that PB offers you by default, so I was quite happy to have discovered that bit of info.

I had no idea though, that after PB would make their disastrous decision to change their modus operandi, that images with ~original tacked on the end would remain visible, while others would be shown the speedo image indicating that 3rd party hosting would now cost you $400 per annum. I just got lucky because some of my images had that bit added on the URL, no skill involved.  : )

    ⇩ EDIT : Thanks again bud. ; ) ⇩
