I have such vast and varied musical tastes.  At heart I am a deadhead, the Grateful Dead being my all-time favorite band by miles.

But I love Pink Floyd, Little Feat, The Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Eagles and many others.  I suppose I am a classic rock fan, but here's the thing.  Other than the Dead, I don't prefer to listen to classic rock.  I'll listen to a particular classic rock song, but when it comes to just throwing something on, I'll take Jazz every time.

You want to start a good argument with a die-hard rock-and-roll fan, tell him neither the best guitarist nor the best bassist are rock musicians.

The best guitarist (by far) I have ever heard:

The best bassist (by far) I have ever heard:

Add to this, I'm a big fan of classical music, particularly Mozart and Handel.
