I find myself circling around back to the greats every once in awhile when I get tired of today's mindless crap. As I check the ipod it seems I have returned back to the early 90s to listen to one of the most under-rated lyricists of all time... Roger Waters.
The entire 1992 "Amused to Death" album was mind-boggling.

If you believe that words mean something and you aren't familiar with Mr. Water's library of work, I would urge you to seek them out.
As I write this, a line from the 1977 Pink Floyd album "Animals" comes to mind:
"Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream.
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream."
