this might seem like a stupid question.

when u roll your mouse over the ball it will give you a 2-10 percent.

is that supposed to mean you should multiply your distance by a percent??

No, it just lets you know how much of the ball's surface is covered by grass.  In the fairway, you'll see 2-10% and that's basically nothing, so shot distance isn't affected.

The more buried the ball is, the harder it is to get the clubface squarely on it.  You'll need to add more power to your shot and/or club up depending on how severe the buried lie is.

percentages mean nothing. I'm sick of seeing 50%  shots go farther than regular  shots.

Lately this has become a phenomenon with the lower distance Cleveland wedges...something has been tweaked for sure.

The power on the scale is not linear for clubs/irons. Example: If you have a 100yd wedge that ends at 105 with no spin, in no wind, using 100% power, that same shot, at the 50% mark will be much, much shorter, not 52.5 yds.

No club, in the highest of winds will go farther using 50% power than it would using 100% power on a similar shot.

Your caddy (or you) changed clubs maybe. Also, not sure what ball you're using, but if it's a low spin attribute (coupled with low loft/low spin clubs/irons)..you will get differing roll outs, always.

Jay, I read AS's comment to mean shots from 40-50% rough...not a power rating.  No way a 50% power hit travels farther than a 100% hit.  The rough situation is real though.  I was in 40-50% rough and hit a 60 yard Cleveland in 2-4mph wind 68 yards.  That a new occurrence.

You're right, Paul, about the difference from rough (especially the 40/50). My normal numbers don't jive anymore, either. Back to hitting and hoping. Tired of mapping, and re-mapping distances. Get it down, they change it, lol.

Just gonna wing it from now on.

OK, PK....here's another for ya ;-)
