    Hi,

Not sure if this has been covered before but is there any way or chance we can see the status of each ball in 'My Equipment'? And if possible the stats on each ball could be displayed. i.e hits left, total hits, damage??

It would be useful to know what ball to use for say..warming up, practice or ranked, tournement etc games. I have quite a few last ball in the sleeve that I dont know how much life is left in them and regret using one playing a ranked game as when its used up and you have to play with standard balls until the end of the round, which could be costly.

I know some buy the same balls religously, no problem there. However, Im sure like me people do buy different sleeves and change to a fresh sleeve before the last balls used up 'just in case' leaving us with an assortment of balls, the status of which, we're not sure of.

    If its not possible..fair do's..Just a thought.

My apologies if its been discussed before.

    Cheers

You might want to consider a rethinking of your POV.

IMHO, it doesn't help much to know the status of any "last ball" because - no matter how many shots are on it - it may not last for the round in question due to a wayward shot OOB or into water. Thus, if "it may be costly" in an important round, you'd have to prepare a second ball (or even more) to prevent the unwanted use of the Starter ball. This may be done by advance purchase or by buying on the fly.

Consequently, we can use last balls only where it doesn't matter, in leisure rounds. If it vanishes in a solo round, we can always quit the round, while in MP rounds it would be a fun subject in the chat and a challenge to complete together with your friends.

I do so, but not "religously". It's based on efficiency because any change of ball would alter the shot dynamics and impair my game. Furthermore, changing balls is unwanted extra work. I have had three balls in six years, Starter, Tour-SD and L33 Cally, and I don't care about the growing collection in my inventory ;)

I have a number of individual balls that WGT gave me for logging in  on days such as 4 July. Generally I use these balls in ctth or blitz games. If the ball is exhausted during play, I either quit or finish with the white rock.

Because of differing characteristics  I find that using the same ball for all play makes the most sense. Why should I spend time learning how a ball will act when it lands on a particular green and then use a different ball with different characteristics? If it is all about the cost of the ball, then I should use the cheapest ball that I can afford for all of my games. Spending on a "better" ball for a tournament and not knowing how the ball plays with my clubs makes no sense.

If I want to have some fun, I put all starter equipment in my bag and set a practice round on the short tees and select the white rock, Or I might play with the white rocks with my best equipment. Otherwise I use the same ball and don't spend time trying to find the perfect ball that I have to spend time learning. Not all balls are created equal.

If you're up to the challenge - go to practice mode, any course click edit equipment, choose the ball in question, put in play. It will show you the guage that you'll see if playing that ball.

Write the aproximate shots left, [more than 50%, less than 50%, in the red]. Close the game and open it again in practice mode. Repeat the process for all your single balls.

But as the other players have said "Why would want to start an important round with only 1 ball?"

Thank you and everyone for the replies,

After reading and having a think, the best way to go is buying sleeves/ using the same ball's so there's no chance of being left with the white rock as Hack eloquently put it:) and as alosso explained, going with what you know is better then changing frequently having to learn new characteristics, trajectories and ball behaviours.

The problem is probably with me having OCD!!  I have saved all the special event balls given as a collection, however i still have quite a few odd balls I brought quite a while ago when rising the ranks, that if i could see how much life were roughly left in them before I started a game would make the choice of where to use them easier and make my bag lighter and more organised.

I think it would also be a good idea if you could select the ball you wanted to use from the tee (like in real golf). That way if your ball ran out during a round you could select a different ball from your equipment.

This has been discussed many times and it will never change.  WGT uses the One Ball rule.  You have to select your ball prior to starting the round.  Only that exact ball (brand and color) is then available.  You need to think of all the other balls you own as not being in your bag, but back at your house and in your garage, and therefore not available to you on the course.

However, in real professional golf, players are also not allowed to switch balls mid round. you start with one type and you need to keep that ball for the entire round. otherwise players may select different balls for different holes i.e. a softer ball for par 3s and potentially a harder, distance ball for the long holes ... So WGT doesn't do anything unreasonable by limiting the type of ball to only one possible choice per round.
