Until this is fixed is it possible for a workaround? e.g. the host of the game clicks on add players 'manual' , and then types in the usernames names of the friends?

No, we've tried that.  It just says "no match found" even though we're positive that we are typing it in correctly and that the other party has made themselves available.

Update:  The problem seems to have resolved itself (or they got hammered with complaints and fixed it).

Is it that hard just to say, "We hear you." Because we know you do!

I've also experienced this glitch in the accuracy of my friends list, so I tested things this morning by logging in simultaneously with two different browsers. On one of them it showed a friend who was online and green, the other showed him offline. I refreshed both browsers and got the same result.

So (sigh) I cleared my Flash cache and that brought back the missing friend to my list of online players.

They had this same exact problem around 3-4 years ago.  Took them a long time to fix it.  Hard enough starting a game now without this bug popping it's head up again.
