Oy mates, i have an idea that can be used to create a more level playing field to wit i think there are no draw-backs, that is, i believe WGT should necessitate that all ready go tourny's, CTTH, and Virutal Tours use the same wind direction and strength for on each hole for each tier. Some will probably retort that "oh, the varied wind directions and strength's for each player is different just like in real golf on any given hour or event" alas, this is correct, but this is a simulation and money is involved, so i think whatever can be done to make each player face the same challenges should be universal. I'll be curious to see what other people surmise regarding this topic. Cheers :)

The top players play just as well into stiff headwinds as they do with h stiff tailwinds. There iare only a couple of  reachabe par 5 holes where there would be a real advantage to a headwind vs a stiff tailwind anyway.

    I think it's a good idea, too.

I also believe the multi's would have an advantage (whether to enter one or several accts) and also the fact that a couple players stream everything would let many players decide whether they wanted to play or not.

Ex: they (myself included here) could watch that guy (can't remember his name at the moment) who plays every RG listed, and streams them as well, and if the wind set is horrendous, decide to skip that particular RG.

I'd like to see them open a new tier, and have only tiered RG's (and premium brackets) for all.

But, that's like asking for them to kill off the Clashes. Ain't gonna happen.

    Same conditions for all:

As I understand it even flag positions can change as it stands.  I think used to be the case anyway.

M/As / watching streams stops the idea in its tracks IMO.  Sadly, but it's my opinion.

    New Tier

Hmmm...........Coming soon same as tomorrow around this place.

I think simple XPs (level) might not be good enough to keep the multis away.  Maybe a minimum number of RRs?

The next problem is how to make it worth while being in - see those Legend Tier comps.  Perhaps reduce the benefits of not being in it................

Alternatively get a SSs resource that stands half a chance of keeping on top of the issue, and call the status quo about right in an imperfect world.

My grandfather came up with the best game equalizer/handicap system ever devised. It's dirt simple and requires no math whatsoever. It works like this:

Winner of the hole takes a big swig of whiskey. If you prefer Scotch, make it whisky.

    All there is to it.

In 1744 the first recorded rules of golf were formulated by the Gentlemen Golfers of Edinburgh -

THE FIRST SET OF RULES OF GOLF

Articles & Laws in Playing at Golf.

    1. Winner of the hole takes a big dram of whisky.

    2. Your Tee must be upon the Ground.

    3. You are not to change the Ball which you Strike off the Tee.

    4. You are not to remove Stones, Bones or any Break Club, for the sake of playing your Ball, Except upon the fair Green and that only / within a Club's length of your Ball.

    5. If your Ball comes among watter, or any wattery filth, you are at liberty to take out your Ball & bringing it behind the hazard and Teeing it, you may play it with any Club and allow your Adversary a Stroke for so getting out your Ball.

    6. If your Balls be found any where touching one another, You are to lift the first Ball, till you play the last.

    7. At Holling, you are to play your Ball honestly for the Hole, and not to play upon your Adversary's Ball, not lying in your way to the Hole.

    8. If you should lose your Ball, by it's being taken up, or any other way, you are to go back to the Spot, where you struck last, & drop another Ball, And allow your adversary a Stroke for the misfortune.

    9. No man at Holling his Ball, is to be allowed, to mark his way to the Hole with his Club, or anything else.

    10. If a Ball be stopp'd by any Person, Horse, Dog or anything else, The Ball so stop'd must be play'd where it lyes.

    11. If you draw your Club in Order to Strike, & proceed so far in the Stroke as to be e Accounted a Stroke.

    12. He whose Ball lyes farthest from the Hole is obliged to play first.

    13. Neither Trench, Ditch or ***, made for the preservation of the Links, nor the Scholar's Holes, or the Soldier's Lines, Shall be accounted a Hazard; But the Ball is to be taken out teed /and play'd with any Iron Club.

    *** Stupid filter,  - d y k e - is a Scots word for a dry stone wall!

Think there are quite a few more holes where it becomes an issue.  Chambers, Erin & Pinehurst come to mind as having numerous holes that can't be reached with a headwind.  Par 4's too...

+1 for OP's idea and whoever had the idea before him..should be the same conditions across the board per tier.

This topic has been around since the beginning of RGs, even before those with the weekly tournaments. That was way back when equipment was really limited and the worry was that someone would play, spill the beans on the wind direction and therefore help somebody win. That never made sense to me but that's the way it was.

It makes even less sense today, IMO. Tell everybody up front what the conditions are, you still have to make the shots.
