JC --- I'm guessing we won't be ready with any kind of a betting line until October when the teams are finalized.    Hell I don't even know how I'm going to do this thing yet (but I do have an idea).

    More to come ...

Note to the RC staff ---- is there any way to see who signed up for Captain.  The link doesn't seem to be working.   Also what's the process to select the Captain ?

    Thanks

I think it´s working now. I made a mistake and also changed the captain signup link for this one. While I try and rescue the link from somewhere, if anyone else wants to sign up for captain just send me a private message and I´ll manually post you onto the candidates list.

    MrDonVito:

QUESTION: If I keep posting in the qualifiers and turn legend before the Ryder Cup starts, will I able to qualify?

I believe these scores would have to be posted in the Legend Open.   So you must make Legend then post a qualifying score.   As that would defeat the point of Legends only, including a score from a Tour Master tournament.

Can someone on the committee verify this?

Yes Bogey, only the scores posted as a Legend count, previous scores from another tier do not, so any TM who is on the cusp of becoming a Legend should press on with those ranked rounds to get there, as there is still plenty of time left to qualify!

what is the minimum number of qualifying events one would have to post a score in?

I'm really not sure why i am posted in the Captain Signup link. I did not request it and do not wish to be a Captain.

We can remove you if desired Lisa, however your real life knowledge of the game (for those of you who don't know, Lisa is a class 1 player (sub 5 handicap)) would, in my opinion, make you more than qualified to take on the challenge.

    Cheers

This is highlighted on the front page of this post, you can miss June and still try and qualify, but if June and July is missed you have to wait until next year to try.

Reason for this is there are two qualifying events in July so if you miss both months you have missed 3 of 6 qualifying events.

I would suggest if you are still a TM on July 1, dont play the qualifying events as a TM, keep on with the ranked rounds, RG's and other tournaments to break into the Legend tier before the end of July and squeeze in the qualifiers before month end.

    Good luck.

Just a simple observation. Since the Ryder Cup is being played at Congressional, should one be considered for the team based on how they do in the US OPEN, starting June 20? It would appear that might reveal who has the best chances of winning-and it is a single play event. Or perhaps some consideration may be given to awarding points for pacement in the final 2 rounds in relation to others trying make the Ryder Team?

And if not for qualifying purposes-for the informational purpose of chosing the alternates- If I were a captain-which I am not= I would certainly want to know how my team plays that course. Just a thought,

I hear you Lisa, and we dearly wanted to make both 'Opens' (the real one and the US version lol) qualifying events, and in our original plan they were qualifying events.

However we had to take them out, both are played in a single week and at prime vacation time of year, so to make it fair for everyone we dropped back onto monthly tournaments, so nobody can cry foul.

I agree though, prospective Captains should be watching Congressional unfold with great interest!
