ok Kriz, will modify the sheet later, it doesn't materially effect the top 9 result, but thanks for letting us know.

Bit of a belated thanks to all comments re the VC position; due to the unseasonally good weather in the UK I took the liberty of ignoring the internet for two days.

Of course cheers to Monty for asking me to assist the ROW team in trying to wrestle the honours away from the US. After the two narrow losses in '09 and '10, I'm sure this event will be equally competitive but with the end points total favouring the challengers this time around ;-)

The war council will be happening over the course of the next week with Field Marshall Monty declaring his two wildcards ASAP. Watch this space....

    Team World Update.

I would like to say a huge congratulations to the nine players who stormed the leaderboard to claim their automatic qualification spot. To say I have been impressed by the way you guys have gone about your business is an understatement.

The scoring has been superb, you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.

I would like to say a big thanks to Stu (mightyred), Dave (Plim), Dan (PortsD) and Seve for their tireless work running the qualifier, without these guys working away in the background, none of this would be happening. These guys have spent hours, verifying scores, working the sheets, chasing people up and setting everything up for 5 months now just to get us to this point.

OK, the big question, the Wildcards.

It is important at this stage to outline how we are choosing the wildcards. We are a team, so it is simple our method of selection has to be team orientated.

To this end I have asked all of the players who qualified automatically for their wildcard votes, the Vice Captains and myself adding our votes too. Each vote is worth 10 points, all votes count equally.

In addition to this players get points based on scoring average during the qualification, and points based on experience (biased towards RC type comps).

The bulk of the points in this process do come from the votes. This is by design.

In the event of a tie, the Captain and Vice Captains will add a single casting vote each. It is unlikely that this will be needed.

I feel this process is fair, and will result in two players joining the squad who have the respect, popularity, capability and experience to add real value to team World.

We are just waiting for votes from 1 player and 1 Vice Captain to complete this process. I will announce the result as soon as possible, please bear with us.

To the players who don't make it, I would like to thank each of you for the tremendous effort you have put in. We only have two picks, and the list of worthy players is deep. Many will be disappointed and I can say without a shadow of doubt that the strength and depth we have for Team World means players I regard as truly 'World Class' will miss out on selection this time. All I can say is, from the process we have adopted to select the wildcards, your omission is genuinely not personal.

    Thanks,

    Monty

    Team USA Update

Great shooting by our Top 9!  We have a strong and deep team and I am excited about our chances heading into WGT Ryder Cup 2011!! Here is our team minus our wildcards. Please friend everyone on this list. It will help us all keep on the same page in the coming competition. With the help of FuzzyGazz, I have also set up a forum for us to all discuss strategy, etc... on http://gamesurge.net/wgt. Once your are in there there is a separate #rydercup room.  So, let me first announce and congratulate our top 10:

    1. PhiEaglesFan
    2. mrenn29
    3. KyRock75
    4. nickolijj
    5. PGABound67
    6. StoneColdKiller
    7. dud_doodle
    8. cyl6
    9. poolmaniac6
    10. JCOlson

I will be sending each of you a separate personal message after this regarding our team, your availability and preferences, your thoughts on our wildcards, etc... Please respond to these as soon as you can so we can be ready for start of play.

Regarding our wildcard selection: I have similar thoughts to my Monty above. Obviously, the easiest method of selection is to go with qualifiers # 10 and 11. And they will be weighted heavily. However, like Monty, I want this to be a team decision. So if you are interested in one of those spots, please state your case in this forum for our top 10 to hear. We want this to be the best team we can field and also have the best chemistry. So based on the feedback I get from the team, your qualifying scores, your history on Congressional, matchplay results, etc... we will make the selection.  Of course, I also accept bribes =)

I am drama adverse, so please keep it to a minimum. This is a virtual golf game, so regardless of selection, let's all just have fun. Thanks for making me your captain. I look forward to leading us to yet another US victory against a very strong world team.

    Remember the Alamo!!!!!

I think I finished 12th.  My case is:

Cyl6 and I won the big Deviations Alt-Shot tournament together, so I think he and I would be a very natural fit playing together.

I'm playing some of my best golf at this moment....ask Nikolijj.  He's seen first hand, my abilities.  I like to think I'm a pretty good putter.....better than average we'll say  :-)

As far as being pumped up and motivated....you'll have no better teammate than me.

My only wish is that I wish I paid closer attention to the sign-ups.  I missed the first qualifying tournament....or I might have made it in on my own merit.

I'd like to play, but there are 3 that finished ahead of me in the qualifier.  they've earned it, so they should get picked before I do.  If for some reason they aren't playing, i'd be happy to give it a go.

Would I like to play ......of course I would, I killed my chances with the first 2 quailifiers, but closed strong at the end, like Odaddy said, he and Bart both finished above myself, and may be more deserving.

I played in every qualifier, to me that shows I'm relieable, and hey.....I have the starts and stripes avatar already.

Whatever happens and whoever is picked will be a nice fit to the already strong team....USA....USA....USA     Gl guys!!!!
