There should be some kind of penalty, fine or suspension imposed on those who disconnect in the middle of a game; thus, leaving others hanging for five (5) minutes hoping they return.  Maybe a three strikes your suspended or thrown out.

    Some kind of penalty box.

If you disconnect three time during one game, you are kicked out. ;)

But I believe level demotions would be a great solution to quitters.

Why would WGT want to put a penalty on you they are here to make money and thats it so putting you down a few levels would only cost them money and putting you into a penalty box again would only cost them money. My suggesting to you is to start your own club like i did (qitters not welcome) and do it yourself if they quit kick them out.I have 250 members and never play outside the club as there is always someone on to play so instead of moaning about it do something about it because they wont.

I think it should be some sort of penalty for quiting in a game. My suggestion is that the hosting player receives the ball that the quitter leaves on the course. I like the new calloways, some slightly used ones would look real good in my bag lol

Simply add a % number next to a players name ( ie: trumpy959 8% ) that is visible for all to see. When you start playing WGT you are 0% and each incomplete round there after would increase your disconnect %. As each completed round is submitted the disconnect % would lower itself giving everyone you play with a quick indication of just what type of player you really are. It then becomes very easy to spot who is playing games and who is not. A Practice round by virtue of what it is intended for would not effect your disconnect % so feel free to practice as you wish.

Most beginners dont care about the number or understand what it means but soon realize how important it is. At some point as the number rises they start finding it difficult getting people to play along with them. Eventually they are forced into finishing games in an effort to lower the number to a more respectible level. This system worked very well for the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise from EA Sports.

WGT started this and gave up on it long ago.

GSOUP is right basically get your friends and play with them.  If you join other groups (which I do often) you can expect to have people quit so just accept that it is going to happen.  The only penalty that I can see as viable is to penalize everyone who quits a match play, stroke play, alt shot, Blitz, etc. game 5,000 points that are used toward moving up levels.  True you might get dinged by a power failure or something but that is the only real way.

those who disconnect in the middle of a game

There is no way to know for sure if a player have disconnected or were disconnected. Many players on here have connection issues, so you can't say everyone who leaves the game has quit. Bad weather can also affect the connection, as many players can confirm.

I am one of those players with connection problems  but because I only play with friends, they understand this and know that I did not (and would never) quit. Usually I can get back in time, but sometimes I can't.

Keep this in mind the next time it happens and if you think they disconnected, just don't play them again . . .

The players in this game are located in many different countries. I am in China and on many occasions experience "MAJOR" connection problems! You were born with balls in your bag! You must be getting on in years if you want some slightly used ones. LOL
