2018 world cup

  I was looking at the rules, and I have a few questions regarding the format and the pairings:
  Each team has 12 players (8 active players, 4 in the bench as I understand).
  Can the active players be switched every round?
  There are 3 Game Types Matchplay, Strokeplay and Stableford.
  How do you assign players to these type of matches?
  How do you decide the pairings?
  Is any of these games played as a team? - Which ones?

  Sorry if you already posted the answer to these questions... if I missed them, please let me know where to find them (and I suggest you copy them on the first post).

  each round the captain will pick 8 players from their squad of 12,once picked they cannot be changed once the round has started,

  each round will be a different format eg round 1 matchplay 18 holes pebble beach

  the captain will send me their 8 players in whatever order they want and i will just put the two teams together,thats the beauty of it,they will have no idea what they order of the other team will be bit like the ryder cup really,where does the captain put the top players ,the back,front or middle lol,

  all games are for the team as points won on every match will go towards your team reaching the knockout stages,

  8 matches each round = maximum 24 points if you win all matches

  please if any player is unsure about anything reagrding the process let me know,i want all to be clear before start of play

  any 8 of the 12 players can play in each round of games..................

   

  all games are head to head with points allocated to the winner,  after the 8 games are played the points are added up + the TEAM with the most points wins....

  the captains will submit their teams  for each round..(somewhere in private)... + the pairings will be announced  (not sure how exactly that works)...

  @ the @jockyoche crew, if your  The theory might be that a Lvl 103 Master isn't likely to give many much of a challenge.  i.e.  If you're still a Master at that level, then the game just isn't coming to you. But your playing in the .......good grief its a given really that it should be the back tees for all , and we are all equals , does rory have to give the weakest US palyer shots , or dustin johnson give shots to the weakest player on the euro team? NO peewee league players no shots to anyone , all level playing field. Frankly lmao , i didnt get to where i am today to play against a (stuck in my throat) ...........cough ......tour master! seriously , i will play whoever i get , but that does not mean i s going to be happy about it. May well be that i just take my team out , such a pity, but i dofeel quite strongly about it.

  i dont mind what you say in pms to me but when you put negative posts on the forum,i dont like it,if you are above playing lower tiers then that is your right and i know your have dropped out being a captain which is your choice so really you have no say in anything to do with the world cup now so i know this will be your last post on here,

  Jocky, quite simply your options are play the way the tourney organizers have set things up and appreciate all the work that is being put into it, or... zip it and don't play.

  hello all

  just a quick update

  still waiting for squads to be sent over,i know a lot of clubs are playing qualifying rounds which is great they are taking the time to put their best team forward,

  hope to have all squads in by early feb,

  will contact jason young46 to arrange a live draw for the group around the middle feb and then get the teams in so we can start 1st march,

  cant wait and exited for this years world cup to start,

  nigel wupta is working in the background arranging the spreadsheets which i can say by seeing a proof he sent to me are amazing and will make it easier for all teams to see their results and position in their group.

  i am in the process of emailing your captains with all the rules and will announce the course/formats and dates for each round.

  well this will indeed be my final input , if your not good enough to hit your ball from the back tee and not man or woman enough to take on anyone as an equal you shouldn't be in a world cup , the very term evokes  the image of the best the game has , so again if you cant field top tier players you shouldn't be in , and you should cal it something else not world cup, something like the tin-pot two-bob sanbaggers and cheaters fun run perhaps , i was not being negative , i was trying to offer a suggestion of a better formatted fairer comp.
