  Here is a brief outline the world cup, as we get closer I will explain more about the rules and what is expected from you as captain,

   

  There will be 32 to 36 to 40 now lol teams entered this year

   

   

  There are four  groups with 8/ 9/10 teams in each group

  There  are 8 players  in each  team to  with up to 4 subs.

   

  each team  in the  group will play each other only  once  on three  different   formats on  seven  different assigned  courses all ranked

   

   

   

  Matchplay,strokeplay,stableford

   

  each match will be two weeks to complete,

   

  3 points win.1point draw

   

   

  there  will be a handicap system involved between tiers if matched to play

   

  I

  THE HANDICAPS BETWEEN TIERS

   

  Stableford

   

   CH,TL V L=2 points depending on level ,TM =4 points,M=6 points

   LV,TM =2 points,M =4  points               HIGHER TIER TO DEDUCT POINTS

  TMS V .M =2 points

   

   

  Matchplay

   

  CH,TLS V L = 2 holes depending on level ,TM = 3holes,M=4 holes

  L V TM =2 holes, M =3 holes                HIGHER TIER TO CONCEDE HOLES   

  TMS V M ,=2 hole

   

   

  Strokeplay

   

  CH,TLS V L =2 strokes depending on level,TM=4 strokes,M=6 strokes

  L V TM =2 strokes,M =4 strokes             HIGHER TIER TO ADD STROKES

   

  TMS V .M =2 strokes

   

   

   

   

  After they have completed the group  format,the top  four  teams from each group will go forward to the knockout stages.

   

  In the event of teams on the same points,the team with the  most wins will go through,if level then the team with the least losses will go through if that fails result against each other will go through hopefully we wont need to go that far.

  But if they do,there will be a play-off

  3 players from each team closest to the pin   with the combined closest scores from the 3 players

  Going through ,

   

  The last 16 willl be matchplay only with 9 players from each team.each match must have a result,

   

  All matches will be ranked/scored,

   

  When I ask you will send the 8 players.its your choice what order you want them to be,whatever oder you send is the order I will post on the matches,it’s a bit like ryder cup,you have no idea what order the other captain wil post and that’s the beauty of it,

   this might change a little over the next month

  Just a thought for the committee to consider. As far as I can see last year there was only 1 player who really stood out, having superior skills to the vast majority of the champions. He's still a legend ;-) 

  Doing hcp by levels and avg can sometimes be off, especially since many people have been hammering the custom courses and their level is much higher than it should be.

  Having that in mind, instead of fixating on a certain level and avg, couldn't the panel just simply go through the field and select those few, who stand out (skill wise) and unhandicap them? I'm sure everyone will agree you lot will make the correct choice and have our complete trust.

   

  P.S.: Many more red tee champs in the field, who would actually deserve a hcp, but hey, it's their own fault ;-)

  This is my 1st time entering this great competition an the time an effort that goes into something like this organizing the forums to make people aware, the dedication to answer everyone's questions an so on.....I'm in oar of this dedication an commitment BUT the handicap system just jumps out an says Crazy to me. I know all teams don't have a variety of levels e.g Legend, TL, Champ but surely the team overall can be handicapped in someway rather than individual player, there are legends who take some champs for fun an 2 shots is a big margin but what do i know i'm a novice an respect all efforts from the organization but just wanted to express my personal thoughts.

  Keep up the good work PaulFinn an friends.

  I guess we don’t have to beat around the bush here as we are not talking about cheating accusations or something like that :) but yeah, Vaibhav playing with a handicap against red tee champions - or any champion for that matter - is ludicrous. 

  Not sure if there are any other players like that, best MO would be a vote of the panel after suggestion from outside, no need for them to sort through the whole list of players.

  Glad you see it that way, Simon. I hope I haven't offended V. And yes, absolutely no accusations regarding him. He has every right to play this game however he chooses and power to him. I only wish I had his patience and his level of skill.
