My apologies if this has been suggested before.

I'm sure everyone has experienced hitting perfectly struck putts only to see the ball zoom past the hole or barely move.  The culprit being an unnoticed power meter default setting.  And unlike other default settings, this one can be easily missed, ruining a fine round,

Since WGT is in its BETA period, how about trying an Option where players must select a new scale before each putt.  And for those that like things the way they are, the automatic default continues as currently configured.

    Opinions???

No.  Thank you for the suggestion though.

After awhile you will realize that the .25 of a second it takes to look at your putter is much easier than needing to choose a scale everytime.  90%+ of the time the game caddy is right and it's not an issue.

Also, with most putters, you're not going to have the same 'animated move' in the same place on the swing bar, so watching your putter move while you apply power will give you some indication of which putter is in your hands.

    Have a nice day.

To mattgolffan1:  This happens to me a lot on BBP #1 where a well struck ball will go way left of the green on the approach shot.

To Snaike:  I hear you are saying and you make a good point.  I was only offering this up only as a possible option , maybe down the road, but I suppose WGT has bigger fish to fry right now.  Or, maybe you have a better caddie than I do (smile).

The most simple solution would be for WGT to always have the putter come up in the default lowest putting range.  For instance, 15' would be the default setting on my Ping Anser putter... always.  If I'm at say 28' then I'd know I had to make a manual adjustment.  i.e. no caddy on the putting green. (And speaking of caddies, why don't they help you read your putt?!)

lol.. have you seen my scores?!!?  My caddy used to be a guide-dog for the blind until that unfortunate accident involving a septic tank cleaner, a beer truck and Guiseppe's Butcher Shop at 3rd and Main street.

Suffice to say, I ALWAYS check my clubs on every shot.  Just because I've been burned more times than the reusable shuttle tanks.

If they are going to change the current system, Doublemochaman's suggestion sounds the very best.

    Peace.

I think a much better improvement would be a feature that doesn't require you to put 1 to 12-18 inch putts...they are just tap ins.  It actually takes a long time playing multi-player golf when someone puts it within 9 inches, but instead of having that player just "tap in" immediately (and not wait for others), you have to wait for players 2,3,and 4 to do their puts.  And finally it gets to you because you are "farthest" away from the hole.

Players should be able to finish their puts, or have the option of doing so, to speed up the game.
