wildcat18racing6: So i wanted to see if the short game would suffer at close range.
IMO it does//will. If you're as in tune with your Satin64 as I was and used all of the shots with it the learning curve for this club is going to foul you up with the yardages for a bit.You can definitely spin back the full and punch shots a lot and the flop stops dead with full back spin.
It's much longer than the Satin and that takes a little getting used to because now you're choking down instead of hitting full on shots. Learning how much to choke is the challenge. Throw in the stopping ability (which is sick) and your curve gets a little bigger.
I imagine Ping wedges users will adapt immediately but the change from the Satin will take some work learning the new distances from the different lies. I'm not a note taker so the only way I learn is by using it and remembering. Use it enough and you'll get the feel. It definitely complements the CG 80 and 100. In fact, with the 115 and the TM set the thought of 4 wedges is sneaking back. :-)
*edit-These are the yardages: full 60 punch 50 pitch 17 chip 7 flop 20. They are very accurate numbers as the wedge bears this out in tests at BPB in low wind. Punches 48 from 30/40 rough and 42 from 40/50.
