Aaahhh... I think I'm safely in the U.S. Open with a 58... maybe.

All through qualifying though, it just kept reminding me how much I hate unlimited play.  I consider myself a reasonably consistent player.  I rarely go over 64 or under 59 on 18 and 29/33 on 9.  Give me a single play tourney where every shot counts and I think I have a decent shot of making it pretty high on the leaderboard if I brought my A game.

But I just abosolutely hate... and don't have much patience to keep playing the first few holes over and over and over again if the pace of my scoring is not in line with the target final score... i.e., birdie the 1st hole or restart, have to be -2 through 3 or restart, -6 or -7 through 9 or restart.  Makes me wanna tear out whatever hair I have left on my head.  But you know that's how everybody's doing it.

It'd be great (well... at least for me) next year, if they kept the qualifying attempts to maybe 10 to 20 attempts.  Hell, even if they gave you 30... at least it would keep people from restarting after 1 hole because they didn't birdie it.  Doubt it can happen though.  More rounds played means more balls lost or worn out, which means more revenue.

Now let's see what the cut line @ the Open is gonna be.

I completely agree with you LBC. I was in as a qualifier for the US Open for all of 3 hours with a 61. I too do not have the patience to keep restarting, nor do I have the interest. If I don't do it in the first few attempts I give up, hence I rarely play the unlimited weekly plays. I enjoy the single plays, I feel I have a better chance of finishing higher up the leaderboard in them. I realise that's not feasible for qualification but I think something like 4 weeks of single play similar to the multi round tournaments would be a better format. Well it would be for me anyway, lol.....

Totally agree. Patience and perseverance will win the adrenaline of playing 18 holes without being able to restart and to support a bogey or even a double in the round...
