Several members of our club as well as others have had their accounts hacked, clubs sold off and credits taken or gifted. The common denominator is the password WGT assigns to the account when you can't remember your password. The members did not go back and change it from the default password they were given.

The credits were used in blitz games that our mobile players don't even have access to. Equipment has been sold off and today balls were gifted to a WGT employee from one of the accounts. I am NOT insinuating that person did it, I am just stating that is where the balls were gifted too. This is the 3rd member of our club this has happened to. Another club owner friend of mine said it has happened to 3 of their members. There is another post in the forums about it. I have contacted WGT when it first happened and due to privacy, they said they can not tell me anything about anyone elses account. This has been going on since before Christmas. WGT has quickly restored the affected members back to where they were before the accounts were hacked to their credit.

IF YOU HAVE THE DEFAULT PASSWORD WGT GAVE YOU FOR YOUR ACCOUNT, PLEASE CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY

Use up to 10 upper and lower case letters, numbers and punctuation like ? !

Not all punctuation is acceptable but the above 2 are.

The only things I would add are the following:

    • As an additional precaution, people should take screen shots of their profile showing how many credits they have.
    • Use strong passwords. At the very least, the password should be an alphanumeric password with a mixture of upper and lower case letters. Ideally, one would also include a special character.
