    Hi guys

I reckon it would be good if you could change your aim without altering the yardage.

For example If I place my mouse over the yardage box, then I can move everything around (as now).

But if I place my mouse over the triangle I can only move left right, and not affect yardage.

This might speed up play because sometimes it takes me too long to get the position and yards I want because of view angle etc.

Appreciate that it's easer to ask than do,

    Regards

    Martin

    Hi

if i understand what you mean, the actual yardage shown during aim is not what is deciding how far you will hit. I often set it short on purpose, if I want to know yardage to front of the green for example

The actual distance is decided by the club/meter power + ding %

I have not explained myself well.

On some holes, moving the distance arc makes it fall of the green and add 100yds.

I know I can't hit that far with say a seven iron, but the aim angle is now shallower than I intend. I would like to be able to set the distance in the zoomed view, then set the aim in the standard view without the distance being affected.

If I try to use the aerial view then the left right increment is too course.

If I am trying to judge wind correction for instance. I might wish to hit my 86yd wedge 72 yds to land on a slope that will roll the ball toward the pin.

If you still don't understand then it's no biggy.  Likelyhood is I'll still judge the length wrong or miss the ding.

    LOL

I know what you're saying.  Aim good, then hit correctly.

I think I understand what you mean...

From normal view on a shot to the green, when moving the aim triangle it will often jump way past the hole.  What yo would like is a way to "lock down"  yardage that the aim arc shows, so that when you are moving it, it will not show 190yards on a 80 yard approach shot.

The opposite it true as well when hitting over a hill, saw a pitch/flop shot where you cannot see the green, then the aim arc yardage might show 26 yards before moving it, but once moved to line up the shot, it may go to 6 or 8 yards.  Sometimes it's very difficult to then find the aimarc triangle to put it back in view on the green.

    Is this what you're saying?

If so, and to sum it up, you'd like to have an option to not allow the arc to move up 100 yards, etc, just stay at some yardage selected.

I think you got it Baggese.  What I do is I move the aim arrow in the caddy picture on the bottom right as it does not jump around if moved from there. Of course moving it from the caddy won't give you the yardage as the zooming feature will and takes some getting used to.

    you got it :)

So as for interaction, I would propose that if you drag the triangle about you can put it anywhere, but if you place the mouse on the distance panel, and drag that, only the aim is affected and the yardage is fixed. ( a bit like a drawing with a compass).

That said, it is only a time issue, I can usually get the aim I want, but with short shot timers in some games I need to compromise my shot for the sake of the clock.

Moving that triangle around will not affect your shot in any way other than aim.

Your distance, arc, hook, slice or otherwise is dictated by your choice of club and the amount of backspin or top spin you put on the ball, and whether you hit the ball on the ding line on the meter.

Your shot will travel along the line drawn between your ball and the triangle  to the distance that you have chosen by your club selection and of course wind will play a factor in whether the shot travels straight.

I think we all know that...but lets say you play a shot for a flop out of the trap on 15 at BP...set your cursor out and have it lined up..cursor is probably out to 100+ yards on a 15 yard shot.

You think about it for a second, decide naw, I want to pitch this instead, now you want a look at the green and place the triangle for the pitch shot.  Dang, triangle isn't in view, you're in MP or alt shot and timer is counting down...you have to now look at the game window to the right, get it close, find a the right view that puts the triangle close to the pin to you can go for your correct aim, take some time to aim it, think about the club.shot selection..bam, time out.

As OP suggest, if you could just "lock it down", then a lot of frustration could be avoided.
