    Martin1966:

    Hi guys

I reckon it would be good if you could change your aim without altering the yardage.

For example If I place my mouse over the yardage box, then I can move everything around (as now).

But if I place my mouse over the triangle I can only move left right, and not affect yardage.

This might speed up play because sometimes it takes me too long to get the position and yards I want because of view angle etc.

Appreciate that it's easer to ask than do,

    Regards

    Martin

Simply use the zoom in feature in the flash menu by putting your cursor where you wish to aim and right click and then choose zoom in. Do it 3 times and the aim area is magnified 3 times making it quite easy to move the triangle without affecting the distance, Doing this only takes a couple of seconds and makes it easy to avoid letting the timer run out. It also makes for a much more precise aim.

Thanks. Now if I could just make the putts I would be doing great.

I found that going to reverse view made it easier for me to work out wind and angles.

At the start i was moving the aimer and not noticing the yardage changing, sometimes hitting what i thought was a perfect shot, only to see it shoot off miles to either side.

If there is no reverse view camera you can use the zoom feature also.

In a related topic, my blue triangle aiming device for the Driver is still set to 240 yards based on one of my first drivers......I now use the R11 driver, rated at 282 yards.

So I have to reset it before every drive....not that I don't do that already based on winds.

Just wondered why the aim rectangle does not move farther down the fairway as we obtain more powerful clubs?

I think it's to do with the number of degrees your driver has.

The Starter driver is 10.5*, so it defaults to 5 yards below its average distance.

In comparison to the single other Driver I have used to tee off, the L62 R9 Driver (8.5*) defaults to 35 yards below its average distance (275 yards).

It would be interesting to see this in comparison to other drivers.

I had the G10 (270 yd) and when I went with the R11 (282 yd) the default stayed the same at 240.  If fact, as I remember it, my 250 yard G10 showed 240 yard default as well.

As long as we are on the topic and in OCD mode.....

I also find it bothersome when I try to grab the blue aiming triangle to move it and if it is too close to the mid fairway camera and if I even slightly miss grabbing the blue triangle and hit the camera next to it, it switches to that camera and I then must go to the camera all the way up at the green to look backwards and then move the blue triangle using it.

Minor issues, I admit but if WGT is reading this, maybe they can pass it on to the programmers.

On some of the holes around St Andrews when you do that zoom in trick, your cursor turns into the shape of a hand and you can click and drag the scenery around!! Would be really great if that feature was enabled on all of the holes on all courses.

It's not just St. Andrews. It happens on all the courses that I have used it on. I doesn't happen all the time. i have tried to figure out what makes the hand Icon appear so i can do it all the time but so far I have no clue what causes it.
