Thanks Heisman, i kind of figured it would be the meter. 3 times now i have had the same thing happen to me when i was in a position to qualify for the RSG cut, on the 18th hole. I even let the meter go through a few times without hitting to see if it would stutter/freeze, but it still got me when i took the shot. Needless to say im giving up on trying.

Don't get me wrong, 2-1, I don't think there's any conspiracy here.  I'm just amazed at the timing.  I worked pretty damn hard at this game to become good enough to be on the fringe of being good enough to make the cut.  The whole point of my post was to share my frustration at being sooooo close.....yet so far.  I'm pretty sure that if I continue to play this game (and I don't doubt my addiction) I'll make it next year.  But let's be serious.......I've had more than my share of bad luck.

    Good luck at RSG.

It's not a meter, it's your computer and connection.

So in effect what you're saying is that Heisman's played 17 holes on Congressional twice on the trot without problem up till the 18th green approach each time  when his computer and connection have mysteriously gone t*ts up causing the most crucial shot of the round to go AWOL.??? - puuuleeeez.

    what you been smoking?

I hear you Heisman, best of luck to you also. My best 18 anywhere is a 60, and in order to qualify i need to score around a 58 to have a chance. Guess i need to keep trying, and not be expecting to beat my best score at the drop of a hat.

I feel for you Heisman but I noticed your very popular guy you  have around 150 people on your friends list .

some of the better players on the site have deleted their friends list down to less than 50. If you look at bolloxinbruges and other like suncity28 they've cut their friends list down to zero to help smooth out the meter

if you're thinking about qualifying for the open you may want to cut some of the deadweight off your friends list I believe it really does help smooth out your meter

best of luck qualify for the open keep it on the short grass

Yes, Joe, I've read that tip before.  I guess I have been reluctant to delete friends for fear of seeming rude.  I suppose I could print out my list and re-add them later.

My thoughts exactly TBE.  Again, no conspiracy theory here, but that is rotten luck.

You have to admit, guys, it's real easy to slip into that conspiracy thing when you get hosed like Heisman did. My near miss went the other way. 17 holes of flawless swings going into 18 just needing a par to get to the dance and straight into the forest on the left courtesy of a major stall. Now where in the hell did that come from?

Needless to say, after trying to knock down every tree in that mess by blasting a 3W all over the place, almost getting hit by a rebound along the way, the big effort was done, never to be approached again. Like I said, sometimes it's easy to think stuff.  :-)
