Spider Putter

  I bought the Spider putter because of the "advertised" slow meter speed and forgiveness.

  Why does the meter move so fast that I have kinda a hard time keeping up with it ?

  Is this a glitch or just "false advertising" ?

  not a glitch,it is slower then most,but at the next speed higher than a starter.Ive been using a beginners putter since the beginning,And I'll never part with it......

  I have try ed all (rented) at one time or another.You need darn good timing skills to master the faster clubs,note the spider is a junk club,,,Well knowen,master the beginners putter

  but thats me,,,also the spider is real good at leaving you short

  My advice would be to stick with the beginner until you can get a Daytona. The Spider is best avoided.

  Save your credits, stick with the beginner and buy decent wedges ( if you haven't already got them). Unless you want to buy, or can earn mega credits to keep getting crazy priced balls to slow the meter down, all the 'better'  putters are a waste of money.

  Beginner rocks!

  Whilst I might have temporarily abandoned my little sweetie in favour of the one with the red clubface, I still do rave enormous and often rue the putts that would sink like fresh eggs into a basket lined with velvet.

  In fairness and under virtual pressure I am using "that other" club extensively so that I might give at least myself a balanced comparison, and as yet, the expensive putter is to be found wanting despite a pretty clubface colour.

  The spider was in my ownership back in the dark days of innocence and that too, was given a fair trial. I am sorry to say that in my case, the poor spider remained ungrateful and downright recalcitrant to the very end. I do believe it now rests peaceful yet unrepentant in a rabbit hole on Bethpage in the company of so many others of its ilk discarded by luminaries various who also failed to appreciate its annoying quirks and foibles.

  I'll have to go back and try my beginner putter again.  I do like the Rossa but "it" lets me down sometimes.  Wish list:  an animation of my "golfer" snapping my putter over my knee.  F1 key for snap over knee, F2 for throwing it into the nearest lake, F3 for biting the head off it, etc.  lol

  All I know is that despite all of the negative crap people give the spider, it was a very useful tool for me from Pro to Tour Master. I sank my longest putt with that spider because I knew what it would do.

  Due to a friend I tried the Daytona putter and I must confess that I sold that spider back within two weeks. It took some getting use to as all new clubs do, but in the end, stick with what sinks your putts and forget what everyone else thinks or says.
