    Hello folks,

I am curious if anyone is having issues with the putting grid/dots over the past month or so?

My issue: The grid sometimes stops and starts with a good bit of lag and the dots stutter randomly. The problem seems most severe in pitch view but also happens in reverse view as well (looking from behind hole) but seems very rare or almost non existent in the front view (looking behind avatar)

The problem has gotten a  bit better over the last 4-5 days. The main issue now is MULTIPLAYER. Playing alone it seems ok(ish) but introduce even one other player and the problem persists...hmmm?

My PC: i5-7400 3.00 ghz with 8 GB ram 64b on windows 10 with intel 630 graphics. Not the most impressive specs but it should easily run wgt without much trouble?

I have never monitored my CPU before the problem started but when putting it fluctuates quite rapidly between 20-44 and I have seen spikes to 46. In all other shots it rarely goes above 25.

    Things I have tried:

-various versions of flash new and old

-multiple graphics drivers dating from present to over a year old

-every browser I have seen/heard others use

    Thanks Jo

Weird stuff going on for sure. Putting is one issue I see. There are others that I have noticed as well. Sometimes the ball is 20 yards short for no apparent reason. On certain holes the ball travels into the wind instead of with it on dinged shots.

I am not the greatest putter around but I have hit a few putts and just went hugh......Not as detailed as you sir but yes weird unexplanable stuff right now...

Jo it may seem a bit radical...but have you tried a different video card? What you are experiencing might be an indication that your video card is getting close to failing. If  your PC has an integrated card as well as an add on it should be fairly easy to disable the add on And test the intagrated card to see if that is the problem.

I had a CPU running higher than normal, and spiking way up, it was messing with the game a bit...I don't know about Win10, but older versions of Windows have been doing that when you have auto updates turned off....have had other programs give me trouble with updates off over the years, they keep trying to run and spike the CPU....

There is a program you can download from microsoft to fix it called Process Explorer.

    Just a thought...

Had the exact same problem a while back. Actually, i mentioned it in a thread (CC forum). At least for a week, i was trying to find out what was causing it. Needless to say that's quite impossible to putt well in these conditions. I have tried E V E R Y T H I N G......nothing.

Problem appeared out of nowhere. When i deal with these things, i always try to find the cause of the problem. So, the first thing i did, was to try out playing the game on another PC unit. Eveything was fine, so i exluded WGT's fault. I was keep trying doing various tests on my hardware and software. Unfortunately, couldn't  use the restore point procedure which would have helped a lot.

My conclusions are that is not a CPU or GPU problem. It's not a flash problem either cause the same thing was happening on every available browser that i have tried. I believe the problem is related with PC's temperatures. When i play on my laptop, initially everything is fine. After an hour though, temp raises and i deal with the dot speed problem. Dots are hardly moving, all of a sudden speed up, stutter e.t.c. I shut down the laptop and try after a while...eveything's fine  till it raises the temps again.

I play on a Win7 laptop, using FF.

Can't tell about the grid effect with certainty, but I frequently notice a rise in CPU temp (installed a monitor) which comes with rising fan speed (which I hear in the meantime). It frequently shuts down the PC :(

Shortly before shutdown, cursor action will be upheld, caused by 100% CPU load. ?Same with the grid?

WGT is one reason for these rises, and I suppose that it comes from the well-known "memory-feasting" of Flash. I listen to my fan also with YouTube and the NYT.

    Remedies of ascending vehemence:

    - Minimize FF until the fan gets quiet,

    - close some FF windows,

    - exit all FF windows and start again.

I shut down background apps in my task manager. Chrome is a big culprit, and I am working to get rid of it and stick to Maxthon and Opera

Check to see if you have any windows updates that need loaded. My game does that when there are updates ready to put in.

IDK if this is related to WoL's problem but I play on a laptop, too, and it does tend to run hot after a while. Raising the back of the laptop-like set it on the edge of a small book or something-increases the air flow underneath it and helps.

At my shop I set it on a Belkin Coolpad I found at KMart for $20. It's powered off a USB port and really makes a difference in the temps. I haven't seen the problem with the dots yet.
