Good heavens; a company wants to make a profit. It would be informative to all of us to know how the board of directors of TopGolf views the WGT and its place in the company's plans.
Dolf Berle, recently added to the TopGolf leadership team, comes to the company after being the COO of Dave and Busters. Perhaps this points to the direction the company is going. Also going through the TopGolf website it is not easy to find information about the WGT other than a few numbers about downloads and rounds.
One last fact that plays into the Dave and Busters connections is the 42,070,802 games played at the various TopGolf venues around the world while there were 247,000,000 rounds played on WGT in 2017. Those games in venue resulted in revenue while the WGT rounds only contributed revenue through ball sales and rakes from pay to play tournaments.
If you were running this company, where would you want to put development money?
