  Very nice shot by Stuffix on #9 in the US Open.

   

  However, after hearing the golf ball careen off the cart path, I'm gonna pick nits....

  that ball doesn't sound like a Callaway golf ball.  In fact, it sounds like a Top Flight distance ball or some other hard covered ball.  The softer ball covers make a totally different sound when they hit concrete.

   

  I know, this is stupid.

  Hold on a minute, CCC #9 is 630+ yards from the back tees (correct me if I'm wrong), so Stuffix must've hit a huge drive just to get close enough? 

  Of all the times to get a cart path shot, it's in the biggest tournament the course will probably ever host on WGT.

  Yes.

  Basically with strong tail and great drives you can be inside 310 to the hole. It's about 270 to the cart path at the bottom, and it's like 30ft below, so full bs 240 3w + ding will reach it. Then you saw the rest :)

  I was around 260 out of that cart path. I figured the ball would land after it with full bs, so I only use 3/4 and it was a good guess.

  Unfortunately, my pitch for eagle stopped about 2.5ft short.

  I too have been on the green there in 2 in an alt shot , from the back tees , if I remember right my partner made the eagle putt . Pure luck on my part to hit the cart path , was just seeing how far down the hill I could make it .

  You gotta watch camera 3 tori.  I only caught this view once but it kinda sorta explains why it sounded different...

  

  I figure suffix couldn't see that guy down in the valley before he hit.  ;>)
