YankeeJim: Because it would inject more realism into the game and steer it away from the TWO-ish route it has taken.
Fair enough.
But then why not make other changes as well? For example, I'm only a halfway decent player, but my accuracy off the tee is 90%. That has to be well above the best PGA player. Shouldn't we have drivers with less accuracy?
This is just one example. I'm sure there are other examples.
And still, the question stands: why is that important? Why is it important that the game have an added injection of realism? Personally, I like the balance it currently has between some realism and a lot of fun.
Between the two, I think it's more important for it to be fun to play than it has these added measures of realism. And the reason is twofold. First, there will always be aspects of WGT that are unrealistic. And second, I have enough realism in the rest of my life. I need a place that is a bit unrealistic and a lot of fun. In other words, I need my "safe place." :-)
That's just my 2 cents. Obviously, others will have a different take and will think other aspects of the game are more important. And that's fine.
