Perhaps it's an early April Fools joke?

    cbbcrazy:

It is almost like they are trying to run players off.

They announce a month early that Nike balls are going away (because Nike is getting out of golf) and from this you deduce WGT doesn't want people to play their game.  Okaaay then... makes good sense.

Like maybe a new owner who wants to keep consistent reliable golf on the PC screen?

More likely they are widening the clowns mouth and slowing down the windmill to help peoples putting average on mobile.

Or new magical avatar undies that increases driving distance by yet another 50 yards. Also on mobile, of course.

See, I was thinking little Easter bunny tee markers, which wouldn't be a WGT cliffhanger...it would just be par for the course.

    To WGT,

Pharmaceutical companies create generic versions of name brand drugs.                              The Automotive industry has OEM parts suppliers as an alternative to  manufacturer parts.    I suggest WGT make available a generic version of the Nike line of Balls matching Level and specs for each.

And, as these are generics, we can follow other industries models and provide them to end users (WGT Players) at a lower cost than the Name Brand.

P.S. Further suggestion - coordinate introduction of Generic line with Nike's departure creating a seamless transition. This would allow your members to avoid financial impact of stock piling the Nike's.  For you, it would take what would have been Customer resentment and ill will and turn it around. exceeding Customer expectations and creating good will to all.

    Hi everyone

In case you have not read the blog, Nike balls will be gone by the end of April, so stock up while you can :).

Selfish side note: I know what's coming and while I don't puke like wgtchamp (who can't hold his liquor), I def have a smile

    -WGTicon

    Thanks for the "heads up."

Of course, I don't really see the point of stocking up.* But that's just me. In fact, what that means is that I'll only purchase them when I absolutely have to and will only purchase 1 sleeve at a time. Eventually, I'll have to move to a new ball. Might as well do it when the Nikes go away rather that days or weeks later. Eventually, they go away.

And let's be honest. While they're decent balls, it's simply the characteristics of the balls we get used to. Those characteristics can be slapped on to any name whether it's Nike, Callaway, or Bridgestone? ;-)

*Unless one doesn't believe that they'll put something in place with the same characteristics. In that situation, I suppose it would make some sense to stock up, while one chooses a new ball to play.

Same characteristics yes, but probably at an inflated price, for the same ball.

When you said the Nike clubs were only going to be available until a certain date [I think it was until Nov 30, 2016], it turned out they were still available months after [March 2017]. Now you say the balls will only be available until the end of April. How can any one actually believe what you say is is true?

When I heard the Nike clubs were available 5 levels lower & only until the end of Nov 2016 I needed to move up 3 levels very quick so I made a plan. I played 25 - 30 easy red tee CC 9-hole games each day by myself & bought the best power up drinks. This went on for about 7 weeks until I could get the Driver, 3 Wood, Irons & Putter. It was very boring & painful & I was very pissed when the offer went on for another 3 months. I could of got them by just playing regularly & saved a lot of $$$ & time. In fact I feel like WGT owes me 17,865 credits. That's the price I paid for three, 15 day, 5955 Credit, 40% XP Ultra Boosts that I did not need & would not of purchased had I known that the sale would of gone on 3 months longer that they said it would!! I'm a good customer & I still feel like I was being used & am just another mark.

So when you say the Nike balls are available until the end of April for some reason this statement conjures up the old story of the boy that called wolf.

Maybe they want you to stock up on balls, so you spend a bunch of credits now.  Then we find out that the nikes dont go away, or that the new balls are even better, so you try them instead, and buy them too, spend even more credits. Then again, you gamble and don't stock up, and the new ones aren't as good, but now your stuck with playing inferior golf balls.

I wasn’t going to comment at first but I’m thinking Titleist.
