Images taken from photo's, spreadsheets and word documents have disappeared from several posts that I have made in our forum, as well as my own profile page   Most of these images were posted using the "post image" program.

I know others in my CC have had the same thing happen, particularly on their profile page, as well as spreadsheets, scorecards etc that they had posted, however I don't know for sure what "program" they may have used to post them.

The problem seems to have affected posts that were made prior to the last update.  New posts "seem" to be working normally with images done through post image appearing as they had before, however all prior posts images have disappeared.

    Please advise.

    Hello Wayne,

I've just done a little bit of investigative work for you and what you could try is this...

If the URL for your post image picture has .org in it, like this...

    https://s12.postimg.org/sqb7aapml/screenshot_427.png

...try changing the .org to .cc ....

    https://s12.postimg.cc/sqb7aapml/screenshot_427.png

...to see if that brings your pictures back.

Post image was temporarily unavailable for couple of days. So whatever you uploaded through post image in the past would get unavailable too. Having said that, its now back to full form.

Thanks again Scott ... you've come through fixing yet another screw-up by WGT!

Thanks Zio, but I did read a forum post (not here on WGT) during my investigation which stated that postimg had their .org domain blocked for some reason. I also did a test picture upload to postimg, and the link I got from that had .cc instead of .org in it. So I think we can let WGT off this time. ; )

    Scott, you are truly amazing....

That did work on the posts in the forum...

    Here's what I found...

The post now appears like this...(strange I know because any video's were not effected at all so they still appear as normal) but as you can see all other "images" are missing.

if you click on "Edit" you will get the little "box"  (noted by the arrows I've inserted) where the original image was....

click on the individual "box" and the "edit image box on the toolbar is highlighted...

clicking on the edit image box on the tool bar will give you the URL, where you can change the ".org" (highlited)...

...and finally changing it to ".cc" as you suggested and hitting "update" you get the original image.  (sorry for the blurred copy...)

Now...all that being said, and fixed, images that were on my profile page can't be "edited" the same way, and I can't seem to find a way to "restore" them.

And of course the bigger question out there is how and why did all this happen in the first place.  I can't believe it has only affected those in our CC...and rather than each of us trying to "restore" their posts individually, is there something WGT can, will or is doing to fix this.

Thanks again Scott for the help.   I REALLY do appreciate your effort.

Cheers Wayne, a good way to correct this kind of thing is to click the HTML button when editing your post/s. Then you can see all the HTML, don't be intimidated by it, just look for your image URLs, edit the .org bit, then click update on the bottom of the HTML editor window.

If that doesn't make any sense, just say, and I'll go through it step by step.

EDIT : See my previous post for why I think this happened.

Was really bummed out that my Andyson Memorial medallions had disappeared from my page. Heading was still there in my blog but the images were gone. Did not have a clue until I read this, simply opened the title, clicked on html and switched .org to .cc and they magically reappeared. Thanks Scott!

...works great Scott....much easier than doing it image by image like I was.

Thanks again for all your help.

Now have to go back through 3 yrs worth of CC posts to figure out which ones are important enough to restore and which ones don't need to be updated...LOL

...and everyone in the club has to do the same thing...
