Is there any point in playing this game with zero or low cost balls? I had some good balls and loved the game. Now I have only free or low cost balls and the game makes no sense to me. I know that I could adjust. But really, does one need to spend money on balls to make the game legitimate and fun?

Depends on what scores you're happy shooting.  A lot of players like the Cally level 33 ball as a relatively low cost ball that performs very well for 250 credits.  That's obviously a big step up from the free or 65 credit balls, but you gain a lot of performance.  Other players use only starter balls and play well after getting used to them.

No point at all.  I can ding only about 40% even with decent clubs and balls.  Maybe if you are young enough and have fast twitch hands you can, but not me.

are there any distance only balls other than the ten credit ones? im so used to playing with them now that i struggle with a ball that offers extra spin, and i do not need a slower meter so does anyone know of any other distance balls?

There are some differences in game play using upgraded balls, but no real need to make the jump. The main difference is how you plan approach shots. With the free ball you are unable to spin them with much success so they won't stop very well when they land on the green. Knowing this, you must allow for (more) roll. With purchased balls, spin can be applied to stop or even back a ball up. The more expensive the ball, the stronger its attributes.

Best advice, pick a ball, even the free one, and stick with that ball. The more you use a ball, the better you learn its attributes. Map the greens with your favored ball, consistently find the best landing spot, and sink those easy putts that you leave yourself.

As far as credits, use a smart phone or an emulator such as nox, to access the mobile app where free credits videos are more available. You need to"spend" time,  but  that could even be while watching TV. A half hour comedy is enough time to generate 100 credits. I use about one ball a day at a cost of 133 credits. I can cover this with one TV show and my morning constitutional.

    Mister Wilson is correct .

I have done 8 years here with starter balls and I know when to let them run on most holes .

Doesn't really do me much good but I can probably average 5 or 6 under for 9 holes on most courses.

Might even get better if I played more and left the forum alone but that wouldn't be much fun .
