So, as suspected, a replacement for Nike but apparently with a significant price jump.

The cheapest Titleist costs 675 credits but only has 0.5 more spin and less distance and a faster meter than the 400 credit Volvik ball.

Jeez WGT, I really like the game but sometimes I think you guys are taking the piss.

They have something for everyone..balls ranging from 10c to $10. That is how products work, to use the best/top of the line product  you pay more. It would be different if they didn't offer a reasonable ball at a lower price but they offer tons of options imo. Also if you look st the entertainment you get in terms of $ per hour it is actually quite reasonable compared to other hobbies, even if you use the most expensive stuff.

People often say it's a money grab and that wgt is all about making money. I sure hope they are because it is a business lol I reckon the site wouldn't be around long if they didn't try to make money. The site does not owe anybody anything. I am not saying wgt has no faults but ball price/selection is not one of them.

Exactly.   As I see it there is absolutely nothing to complain about.  Well, except for maybe balls that are sold with certain attributes but don't have them in the game.  They'll fix that.

The TM balls (ahem Nikes) look to be a direct replacement of the Nikes, and they have added premium balls for a premium price.  They also told us exactly what was happening before it happened.

Nothing to see here, nice release WGT.  I like it.

Since we are not privy to the agreement between Topgolf / WGT and Acushnet / Titleist we have no idea what the financial details might mean to the price that has been attached to the Titleist balls. It is quite possible that WGT must charge a higher price, by contract, for these new ball to protect the image of Titleist as a high end ball. There is more at work here than just a few programming changes.

It might be considered a win for those of us who play WGT, that a top name in real golf has shown an interest in joining with WGT. It is certainly better than losing Nike and getting no replacement with any name recognition. Certainly several new WGT balls with similar specs and prices to the now defunct Nike balls could have been created. But the question becomes one of how that would help WGT move forward. An agreement with Titleist does help point the company in the right direction. We just have to decide how much to buy into that direction.

Balls rebranding? Ok...but I'm disappointed for 1 reason, Im lvl92 and used Nike RZN lvl90 (D5, S5, M4) and have to wait for ball with the same spec till lvl95 (TM TP5) - few months.

I have to choose another one with another spec and map my clubs again with other specs ball. It annoying me....isn't moneygrab?

Sure, I can buy more expensive and better ball (925cr with better spec) but I don't need it, I would be happy with the old spec to be available on the same lvl.

In the UK we can buy 4 dozen Pro V1's (£40 per box) for the price of 3. This comes in at £120 or £7.50 a sleeve. At the current exchange rate of $1.40 to £1 this comes in at $10.50 a sleeve. Oh and for that price we can get them personalized with our name and we can even choose what number (1to99) we want on the ball.

TaylorMade also do the same deal for the TP5's at exactly the same price.

Here, real balls for less than virtual ones.

My beef with this is not that we no longer have a ball of similar spec/price as the Nike L48 ball that was so popular, they covered that with the TM balls.  It's that the lowest priced Titleist ball is pretty much the same spec but way more expensive.

How can that be right?  They must be hoping people will pay extra to get their favourite brand.  Anyone buying them over the almost identical spec Volvik needs their head examined.

If enough people complain and forgo the PROV1’s  for the Volviks,Callaway and the cheaper TM balls  they might drop the price.
