I shot a front 9 28 Thursday and fell apart on the back, though in fairness it was only the second time I had played the back 9. I also must admit to freaking out a little, my previous best 9 being a 29 at SA front 9. I probably should have saved and settled down, then went back and played the back. But my thoughts were... hell, I just birdied #6,7,8, and 9. I wasn't about to stop shooting.
I looked at the course and determined there are 13 decent birdie holes. I focus on birdieing those. 7 on the front and 6 on the back. In my 28 I birdied 6 of the 7. I missed on #5 but had a cushion from a birdie on #4, #3 and #4 being the two 'par' holes on that side. Left a birdie putt on #10 3" short, then proceeded to bogey 4 of the next 6 before finishing with two birdies. So, I have to work on my back 9. Was the 28 on the front 9 a tease, or an indication I should make a run at it?
Gonna spend a few days playing the back 9, see if I can get down to 30 or 29, if I can I'll give it a run.
