putt goes straight over the hole

    I have saved a reply of my putt on congressional where the ball went straight over the hole without giong in, you can watch it on my profile.

    I'm guessing this is some kind of bug.

    Worst of all it cost me a birdie!!

    That happens all the time here LOL, no bug just part of the game. Plus that was Oakmont 12 not congressional, nasty left to right breaking putt, miss that 1 all the time. Looked a bit fast maybe.

    woops, yep got the course wrong!

    I would have expected some kind of bump or jump off the hole if it was a bit fast, but to have it just roll on over seemed very strange.

    Must be sumpin' up at Oakmont lately... same thing happened to me at #10... from 2inches.

    Funny thing is... the replay I saved (linked in that thread) is blank. Won't play anymore.

    The camera angle is deceiving and unfortunately there wasn't one that showed what happened.  The putt actually lipped out on the low side of the cup.  With the angle shown it only appears that it went through the hole.

    The cameras can play all sorts of tricks on you here. A few months ago I had an approach shot that went straight through the pin, I replayed it several times and it was always the same, straight over the middle of the hole but after saving it and watching it at the end of the round it clearly went to the side of the flag stick.

    Different views often show different things, it's annoying but something we have to live with. On the whole WGT is fantastic, something that's not said enough in my opinion. There are hundreds of moans but very few people write to say thank you for a great game.
