    Hi all,

Im on Pro level 38 at the moment and am thinking of buying a set of irons to last me till master.

I've narrowed it down to 3 sets - but i'd like to know which are the most scalable set out there to use till i can make master:

    1. 2010 Rapture V2 Iron Set (Graphite) (L48+)
    2. K15 Iron Set (Graphite) (L38+)
    3. G10's (L35+)

Now I have a G10 Level 16 driver and am currently renting the Pro driver (250credits) - which im hoping will serve me till master - so am quite used to a mid dial speed meter.

Im just not sure which stats are the most important, and in which order.

im thinking: Precision, Forgiveness, spin - is that right?

Any help from you Masters - Legends who have been through this dilema will be most appreciated.

Thanks for any help given :)

To be honest with you I was a rapture user up until they just would not give me the distance I needed anymore. If you are used to the G10's and hit them well with decent precision then I would stay with the G10's. The rapture have a much slower meter but their precision is not that accurate. They do have a larger degree of forgiveness. Also, while a slower meter is great for some players it was a bit of a struggle for me when I later moved up to the faster metered irons, this was somewhat alleviated by using balls with a lot more feel dots which will slow down the meter. Truly the best investment on here for anyone in your situation might be a good putter and great irons. You can build on the driver and wedges as you go. Others will have great advice as well and often you will get totally different views, what works for one may not for others.

GL and hit em in the fairway...

If you go with the g10's now then your going to learn to play with whatever you buy but looking forward to the next level i see the g10s at level 59 that have the same swing speed and they will be good enough till you get to be legend or  they bring out something else magical.

I am a big fan of the K15's.  I find they stop better on the greens that the Raptures did.  I have no problem shooting low scores with them, I might not be on the level of some on the site but I do hold my own.

Forgiving and easy to learn :)

I'm using Ping K15's and quite happy with them.  Not sure I would change if the opportunity arose.  I guess it comes down to what you are comfortable with.

Can't comment on the K15s, which came along later, but I think a lot of players have used the top Raptures to get up to Master level. To get much past that you need irons that are more accurate and with a higher trajectory to stop better on the greens. For me that has been the top-level G10s (level 59 or thereabouts) but now there are other options in the form of the Burners (don't know them myself).

The things I looked at with a iron set was distance and spin when I first started.  I liked the Raptures when I had em, they were good and did the job for me at the time, but had to get rid of em when I went to the higher tiers. Try to have clubs with the same meter speed if you can. No good if you have a driver with a fast meter and Irons with a slower meter you will end up in trouble when trying to hit the ding.

When you get to L79, the best Irons out there are the Burners, the only thing with them is  they have a fast meter, which might be a problem to some.

    Cheers

       Roger

WGTIcon still plays with the Raptures. That might tell you something.  :-)
