I hear ya, but we have to allow for certain time to complete the round. For example: say you register for that you plan to play right now but something comes up. with 3 hour window. the person is unlikely to finish it.
I understand what you are asking but many different people play different; some play at home, some at work, some during travel and so on.
In past, when we have 5-6 ready go's tops, it may have made sense, but with at least 15 available, there is no excuse.
I also know that some folks like to play sta front 9 only or maybe with some other course. In past, some folks really disliked kia front 9 with heavy winds/champ greens or bp 18 with very slow greens.
I have always stated that by being picky and choosy, you will never become complete player and practice/friendly round rarely has same prohibitive value as a rg, when there is something on the line. I just played a round with a friend few hrs ago, he said he did this course (rsg back 9), and had 4 birdies and an eagle. In my round be barely broke par.... I told him that when $ is not on the line, he can't concentrate and he agreed.
With that said, everyone can play anything they want and how they want but I hope you realize that we feel the 12 hour rule is best for the whole.
