I’m assuming most people play WGT on PC’s. Anybody have a guess as to what percentage of players are strictly on mobile, like I am? Are there advantages to being on the PC vs. mobile, such as maybe easier to hit ding? I’m wondering if any players on mobile have made it into the upper ranks of players (TL or Champion)?

I play both and I find the game much easier on PC. My ding % on PC is probably around 70 where as on mobile it's probably only about 10%.

Wow, that’s a big difference. I never seem to hit ding more than a quarter of the time on the large iPad.

One of the advantages to the PC is that there are a lot more playing options. I think it's agreed upon that dinging the shot is easier on the PC. But I think the mobile is more forgiving on approach shots.

So, I don't think the fact that it's easier to ding on PC is that big of an advantage.Besides, depending on the wind or the shot one is trying to make, there are times when it's preferable not to ding the shot.

I think the big advantage of the PC is putting. Putting appears easier on PC than mobile. There are a lot of "hidden breaks" on the mobile.

As far as players who are TL or Champions and are mobile-only players, there are plenty of them. Probably one of the best players is AussieMick. If you look at his CC, which is mobile-only, you'll see quite a number of TLs and Champions there. And they're not the only ones. There are plenty of others.

Thanks for the reply. I didn’t realize putting was different on the two platforms, but probably it’s easier to process more terrain detail on the PC. Putting isn’t easy anyway LOL

If I ding more than three shots in a row, I get paranoid WGT will think I’m cheating, hehe.

Anyone got a spare tinfoil hat?

70% ding rate !! Well who's the lucky one. I am at Champion tier and consider myself lucky to attain 40% ding rate. But there again I only get to play 3 or 4 games a day if I'm lucky.

It would drop well below 70% in heavy wind as I would intentionally miss on the side the wind is coming from. Most of my dings come from putting. Doesn't always mean the putt will go in of course.

@Robert, thanks for the kind words mate. Too kind.

@Redmonod, I also play strictly on mobile. Dings are overrated, lol. Just remember it's not how, it's how many ;) Happy golfing mate!
