Certain holes on Olympic, like #1 with a right to left wind, and #4 always, I feel like you have to hit a shot directly through a tree to get it in the fairway.  Every now and then that tree will knock the ball straight down.  Often on number 1 I just hit a punch drive and let it roll with the slope leaving 3 wd.  Do you just hit it and hope on those holes in Olympic?

There are, no doubt, some tricky tee shots in certain winds, it's a course where you need to know the carry of your woods and understand how to shape your shot by deliberately hitting early or late.  Takes a bit of practice, but definitely doable. Can't remember last time I hit a tree there (while playing sober I must ad!!   lols)

OLY #1 and #5 come into mind, and BPB #2 (all from Legend tees). Difference being, BPB allows most shots through trees while OLY is more punishing, also with "invisible branches" (most of them should be removed by now).

For hole #1, if you use full backspin, I don't think you will hit the trees (can go thru them). Hole #10 you can hit the trees on tee shot even with full backspin.

It amazes me how many don't know this. Good enough reason for a refresher.

Pretty sure it only works off the tee with driver.

You either hook it or fade it, practice makes perfect

    Full backspin on 1 & 4 always....

On #1 ( right / left wind...aim at the hole in the tree, a branch hangs down in the middle... aim @ that mostly and it will miss left and leave a 3 / 4 iron in....exaggerated aim will be needed in high wind.

( with a 16/18 10 pm wind I aim right edge OF the whole hole )

Full backspin will always clear #4 tree from black tees..whatever wind dir

#5 can be problematic..no backspin and 93% drive will see you right.

( there is a way to rip a R/L drive but hard to explain where to aim  here..)

    And on #10..I always go with a 3w..easy 150 y in

    GL ;)

Draw and fade do not work with the irons.

As we knew, but even Scott can confirm.

Scott, can you do it with an iron shot?
    No.

    # 10 Olympic punch shot with driver full B/S leaves  you in the fairway no more than 135 to the pin and often much closer.
