How about showing a ghost ball (in red perhaps) that indicates what would have happened if you had hit your intended shot perfectly (i.e. 'dinged' the meter)? This could add the excitement and learning opportunity by letting you know how close you were to "figuring out the right shot" even if you were unable to execute it perfectly.

while extremely unlikely to happen anyway,- I strongly believe you would be surprised how often a "dinged" shot will end up worse than the one you may have "missed" in cross wind conditions, dinging shots is not the best option in the game ... sure some people are so well adjusted that they know exactly where the ball goes when you ding a shot in any condition. but the vast majority of people on here will likely not get the best results from dinging all shots ... at least that holds true to how I play the game.

Takes a hit off your ball? I've never checked, but that would be interesting since putting doesn't count toward ball hits.

Why would you practice putting with anything other than the 'ROCK'? Hit it as many times as you need, it don't cost you nothing!

Yes. I often add pull or fade to my shots based on need, but I was simply suggesting it for an added feedback channel for checking how accurate your eye was in trying to figure on aim and strength for those shots where you don't hit the ball perfectly.
