My avg. as Tour Master has been 64.xx for a long time. Recently it went down to 61.5. I haven't shot more than 3-4 rounds below 64 for 18-holes and the same for 9-hole stroke play (Doubled 9-hole score). There is a par 3 18-hole score of 51. I know this shouldn't count but why have I gone down so much? Really don't want to go to Legend.

Sounds like you made saturation and now your score is changing so quickly due to old "not so good scores" are being bumped out of the calculation and thus your average is based on better scores?

    Just a hunch.

My hunch is from defeating higher tiers in match play....I think this still affects players lower than legend tier.

The OP will struggle with his current clubs at legend......they are fun clubs but at legend tier it will make things difficult.

I think after 8 years in here is time to move on !!

It's not a recent saturation, because all his scores in the history are TM scores.

But, he has earned a good share of credits - recent wins in tournaments or matches will effect the average, as match play wins against Ls and higher will, like the win against JK yesterday and against D a week ago. AFAIK, these two alone are good for a drop of 1.4 average strokes, and there has been a third match win against a Legend at some time.

I have been a member since 2010. I stopped playing for several years and just started playing again less than two 2 months ago. Thus I still have the old clubs.

Match play must be the reason, although they are not stroke play for average. They must count as ranked rounds somehow. My career earnings are from years ago.

I totally forgot about the match play against higher tiers.  That must be it.

There has always been theory that beating higher level players will advance you quicker without the "normal" requirements.

Not a theory but fact, part of WGT's effforts to curb sandbagging.

I became a Legend when I beat two Legends in a CC match as a TM with 62+ average. Each match win dropped my average by .7. I remember that one of the guys tried to lure me into a "friendly" match in between to have me promoted before the second official match. I declined ;)
