    Greetings WGT Members,

A few years ago, in July 2015, a gentleman named opyeuclid hosted an event where so called "Santa's" would go around and gift members items from the Pro Shop, clubs, balls, etc.; whatever they asked for or what the "Santa" could give them. I would love to host this event again this year. If you are feeling lucky, post below what you want and why you deserve it. Hopefully some "Santa's" will know that you were a good boy/good girl and give you a gift.

Note: You are not obligated to purchase anything for anyone, this is just a kind gesture if you are able to.

    Thanks everyone!

    Best Regards,

    Marc (MARCJR35)

    Marc,

Wouldn't it be a good idea to contact Opy first and determine whether or not he plans to run this event this year before you hijack it out from under him?

I started a "12 Days of Christmas" event a few years ago and due to it's popularity I also started a "Christmas in July" event. Both events became very popular and I found I couldn't manage both events. Opy had always been very helpful to me in both events and so we decided to split them up...I run the December event and Opy manages the July event.

Opy has managed the "Christmas in July" for a few years and 2015 wasn't the last one...here is a link to last years event-

So please, before you go and offer to start an event that has been run for a few years by another player...do your homework. Opy has been doing this for a while and I think he really looks forward to it, so please don't step on his toes...unless he tells you otherwise.

    Hi mrcaddie,

Well, well, looks like you have it all figured out then; please disregard my post. If opyeuclid is the man to do it, then so be. But I do not appreciate you saying "don't hijack it from under him", "do your homework", and "don't step on his toes". I tried to friend him for about a week now, no response. I also posted on his profile. Anyone can host anything they would like on WGT, even if someone else has hosted the same event before. But out of common courtesy, go ahead with your plan. I really hope he host this event, because if he does not, there are going to be a lot of unhappy people because you told me not to, or at least preconceived to. This was also approved by WGTicon in my messages. No offence intended towards opyeuclid or mrcaddie.

    Best Regards,

    Marc (MARCJR35)

I have a different take on that, and if Marc wants to do it, then power to Marc.

All too often, we criticize in the forums....here is a player who has used his initiative for the betterment of the community,

I personally think that is great......so go for it I say!

It is now mid-July and I have seen no announcements (but also do not read the forum often) and in fairness, no-one has rights to anything......

I think Marc shows that he wants to support the WGT-community so like Alanti i say go ahead. No one has the right to say you can`t do this.

Spot on from Alan & Bjorn (Makings of an Abba tribute act there btw ). :)

    @ Marc:

You did all you could to make contact with Opy and, after getting no response, did what you thought was correct in the circumstances by bringing the subject to the forum yourself. Good for you.

    @ Mr. C :

Sorry Wayne, bit too many uses of the "I" word for my liking in your reply. You were quick enough to berate Marc - maybe be as quick with your apology, yeah? Sure you will be.

    👍

Opy has not been too active of late Marc, he did make a post on WGT yesterday (clash thread), around same time you walled him though.

Sure he will get round to speaking with you.

Also you have been away for a bit it seems, so may not have known what has been going on.

Still unlike Wayne, but its possible he only seen your wall post yesterday to Opy and didn`t know you had been trying to contact him previous.

    Never enough Santas.

P.S I never ask for much, so a picture of George Formby riding a bike will do for me please.

    ;-)

Good day - how are you?

I think it is a good idea.

You people are very generous because you give equipment to others - incredible.

I am new to this game and now I am addict, big addict.

I play every day when I have time, and the boss is not in the office.
