It would be great to see a few options for 1 and 2 irons.  Say hitting the same distance a 3 wood for a 1 and a hybrid for a 2 iron. but with lower trajectory.  would be nice on high wind days. :)

A 1 iron will not hit the ball as far as a 3 wood, It's more like a 5 wood, That's why when i carry my 1 iron i only have my driver and 3 wood in the bag. if I leave the 1 iron out i carry the 5 wood. I used to carry it all the time but as I get older it's just becoming to hard to hit well consistently. That's why most companies quit making  1 and 2 irons. Besides with the Burner 2.0 3 iron being rated 220 yards and even longer with a tail wind or using topspin a 1 or 2 iron is not needed.

Damn right there, I've used it a few times off the tee when there's a tail wind and the driver or 3 wood would hit too far land me in the rough.

A 3 iron that then hits over 250 yards can also get you into trouble.

I have carried one since I was 14 and I am now 65 and until just the past year or so I could hit the 1 iron as well if not better than any club in my bag. I even put a 1 iron head on a driver shaft when I was 14 or 15 and used it to drive instead my driver. And I hit it well. I really don't remember why I quit using it.

I recall making a suggestion saying I had a Arnold Palmer 1-iron that I used for my golfin'days past...I believe that would give competition to the wackywoods.Don't get me wrong-there are a few woods I would not part with. But I also used a wilson 2iron along with that set.Doc' stopped from both golfing and bowling due to medical problems..but, this game offers those like me-a chance to at least play, ty wgt :} & gOOdgOlfin'2ya!

I hit a one iron until I was about 40, after that I found that the 3 wood and even the 5 wood was easier to hit and except for the low boring shot they worked better.

Doubt that I can even hit it today but I imagine that 99% of the golfers out there are much better served with a 3 or 5 wood.

What clubs would you replace if you added the 1 or 2 iron?

Good question. As most of us don't carry a hybrid and I would hate to drop on of my wedges.
