take your ball and go to a hole. practice round lets say kiawah 1.
hit the ball into the rough near the green and start practicing shots. flops or pitches or both. whatever you like.
around the green on short distances it's very predictable.
bunkers even more so. there is definite math to bunker shots and it's linear.
fairway rough. dont hit it there and you don't need to worry about it.
but there are some general guidelines that will enable you to make pars most times. Fairway rough tho is going to cut down on your birdie chances.
and never hit it into a fairway bunker unless it's within 80 yards of the green. that's just an avoid at all cost rule. the penalty to distance is simply too high to risk it.
